Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustry Solution company and the holding member of Pupuk Indonesia in the program "8TH ANNIVERSARY OF PIKA PI (Association of Wives of Indonesian Fertilizer Employees)" held the opening of the demonstration plot (demplot) using Phonska Alam organic-based NPK fertilizer with symbolic joint fertilization activities by the President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi, President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, CEO & Founder of Benihbaik.com, Andy F. Noya, along with Chairman of PIKA PI, Tata Rahmad Pribadi and Chairman of PIKA PG,

Atik Dwi Satriyo in Mulyaharja Village, South Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java, Saturday (3/2/2024). This demplot is a form of the company's commitment in supporting the progress of organic agriculture in the country.

President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi, said the use of organic fertilizers made a positive contribution to increasing organic agricultural yields, both in terms of quality and yield. In addition, the use of organic fertilizers also has the effect of maintaining land health to form sustainable agricultural cultivation.

"Pupuk Indonesia has developed an ecosystem of organic and bio-based products to support sustainable agriculture. This becomes important for long-term use to maintain the overall health of agricultural ecosystems. So, we believe that by providing various types of organic fertilizers for healthy agriculture, we can achieve Indonesia's food security," explained Rahmad.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo added that the potential of organic agriculture in Indonesia is very large. Data from the Indonesian Organic Alliance (AOI) says, there are 251,630 hectares (Ha) of organic agricultural land in the country. But previously there was no organic-based NPK fertilizer with Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P), and Potassium (K) content that was standardized by Indonesian organic.

"Phonska Alam is the first organic-based NPK fertilizer in Indonesia. The content of N, P, and K in this fertilizer has been standardized and of good quality for organic agriculture so it is very appropriate to be a solution for the progress of organic agriculture in Indonesia," said Dwi Satriyo.

Phonska Alam fertilizer is produced using raw materials from N, P, and K sources derived from natural minerals, without using synthetic chemicals so it is certainly suitable for organic farming in Indonesia. This fertilizer already has the "Organic Indonesia" logo mark as a form of protection or guarantee for consumers of the quality of Phonska Alam.

"So far, organic farmers have used conventional methods to provide nutrients N, P, and K to plants, for example using washing water for rice, banana trees, coconut husk, or others. Now we offer a more effective, efficient, and measurable or standardized way through Phonska Alam," said Dwi Satriyo.

As for the demplot in Bogor, Petrokimia Gresik cooperates with the "Lemah Duhur" Farmer Group which has 57 farmers. This rice demplot was carried out on an area of 3 (three) Ha with a dose of Phonska Alam fertilizer of as much as 500 kilograms / Ha.

"In several trials in various regions, including East Java, Phonska Alam has proven to be able to increase rice productivity. Hopefully, organic cultivation in the demplot that we did in Bogor can be duplicated by other organic farmers in West Java, so that organic farming productivity can continue to be encouraged," he said.

Meanwhile, in the commemoration of PIKA PI's 8th Anniversary, Kartini Tani Indonesia was also inaugurated, namely the PIKA PI initiation program to invite women to be more actively involved in the agricultural industry to increase the diversity of perspectives and ideas in sustainable agricultural management.

PIKA PI and Pupuk Indonesia will implement this program in stages until December 2024 by forming Kartini Tani in various regions, providing proposals for agricultural business development, holding on-site training, mentoring farms, Kartini Tani jamboree, and conducting evaluations.
