The Sport Olympics Opening to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of Petrokimia Gresik was carried out at Wisma Kebomas, Monday (31/05/2021). This event was carried out through online and officially opened by single serves of shuttlecock by the Chairman of Petrokimia Gresik 49th Anniversary, Widodo Heru Sulistyo and the release of arrows by Operation and Production Director, Digna Jatiningsih. This event was held amid the Pandemic of Covid-19 and still implementing strict Health Protocol as company’s commitment in combating the spread of Covid-19 virus.
Through the event, with theme “Sportsmanship Beyond Diversity” is hoped that it will stimulate enthusiasm and foster superior potential in sports in all work units. This Olympics is aimed to improve the relationship and cooperation between employee of Petrokimia Gresik, which is it will be able to increase the productivity and company target achievement. Not only that, this event is also hoped can strengthen Petrokimia Gresik’s employee in to face any challenges, and collaborating to support the implementation values of AKHLAK in Company.
This Sport Olympics was followed by 16 representative contingents of Petrokimia Gresik’s employee and subsidiary company. There are 8 (eight) sports that will be competed in the Olympics, which will be held from May 31 to July 3, 2021, namely chess, aerobics, fishing, badminton, E-sports, duathlon, tennis, and archery.
Operation and Production Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Digna Jatiningsih when opened this event conveyed that Petrokimia Gresik’s Management really appreciate the enthusiasm from employee who follow this sport Olympics discipline in implementing health protocol.
Based on Digna’s opinion, Rivalry in sports competitions is a natural thing, but must still uphold sportsmanship. For this reason, it is expected that all employees, especially those who compete in this event, prioritize sportsmanship and continue to uphold solidarity as part of the company's moral values.
“Let’s make this competition as a media to tighten our relationship, which is certainly will improve good performance and productivity for company. Keep solidarity and sportsmanship in competition, and respecting AKHLAK values. Hopefully, at the age of 49, Petrokimia Gresik can show good performance and can contribute more to society,” said Digna (Puji/Wildan)
