Education is an important factor for every individual in making for the better changes, especially regard to the level of welfare through finding a more suitable job. In response to this, Petrokimia Gresik again held School Learning for Package C or National Senior High School Equivalency to improve the competence of human resources (HR) around the company. If in 2015-2017 collaborating with Youth Organization "Dua Lima Tujuh" Roomo Village, Manyar District, Gresik, this time collaborating with the Pangaskarto Youth Organization, Lumpur Village, Gresik District.
This learning program activity which is equivalent to High School (SMA) level is held as a tangible manifestation of Petrokimia Gresik's concern in developing the community around the company, especially through the education sector. This activity is also an expression of gratitude for Petrokimia Gresik (PG) for the support of the surrounding community for the achievement of company performance.
"Along with the development and advance of the company as an agroindustry solution, we also want the surrounding community to advance and develop, " Said Vice President (VP) of Petrokimia Gresik Public Relations, Awang Djohan Bachtiar when inaugurating the implementation of School Learning of Package C for the 2020-2021 Academic Year.
The inauguration ceremony which took place in Lumpur Village (24/08/20) with strict application of health protocols, was attended by the Head of the Lumpur Village, Fathan; Chairman of LKMK Lumpur Village, Bagus Kurniawan; Chairman of the Pangaskarto Youth Organization, Head of Lumpur Village, Achmad Rofiqi; Officials of the Gresik Education, Sentot Santosa; The organization of the Community Learning Activity Center Salafiyah Gresik District, Abdul Aziz Syaifuddin.
The School learning of Package C for the 2020-2021 Academic Year was attended by 15 residents of Lumpur Village. The youngest age was 17 years and the oldest was 39 years. Teaching and learning activities had started on July 19, 2020, and will last for 1 (one) academic year. Teaching and learning activities with teaching staff from Community Learning Activity Center Salafiyah were held 3 (three) times a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but they can also adjust to the participant's activities.
