Petrokimia Gresik Inspiration Day" Empowers High School Students in the Vicinity to Face Future Challenges

Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustry Solution company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, actively participated in preparing the nation's outstanding future generation through the "Petrokimia Gresik Inspiration Day" program in three high schools near the company. This initiative aims to equip students for future workforce competition and includes financial support totaling Rp45 million.

Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, stated that "Petrokimia Gresik Inspiration Day" is part of the ongoing "Petrokimia Gresik Teaches" program implemented annually in several schools in Gresik. Through this program, Petrokimia Gresik aims to motivate high school students in the vicinity to prepare themselves for the increasingly competitive global landscape in the future.

"The high school years are a crucial stage for individuals to thoroughly prepare for their aspirations. The presence of Petrokimia Gresik representatives among them is to motivate high school students to build their self-quality and support the achievement of their goals," said Dwi Satriyo.

The high schools involved in this year's "Petrokimia Gresik Inspiration Day" are SMA Negeri 1 Manyar, held on August 22, 2022, SMK Negeri 1 Cerme on August 24, 2023, and SMA Negeri 1 Gresik recently.

"Motivation is an integral part of education, and education is not solely the responsibility of schools or teachers but of all parties, including Petrokimia Gresik, as part of the state-owned enterprise and tasked as a development agent," he emphasized.

As part of the program, Petrokimia Gresik also allocated a mentoring fund of Rp15 million for each school. This activity is part of the celebrations for Petrokimia Gresik's 51st anniversary.

Additionally, the Petrokimia Gresik Teaching Program commenced in 2019, predating the Covid-19 pandemic, packaged as the "Petrokimia Gresik Millennial Teaches" program targeting primary schools on Bawean Island. The subsequent "Petrokimia Gresik Teaches" program was conducted in 2022 for ten elementary schools around the company.

Abdul Mukti, the Vice Principal for Public Relations at SMA Negeri 1 Gresik, commended Petrokimia Gresik's teaching program. He stated that this activity is a novel experience for his students, providing them with fresh insights into competitiveness.

"They enjoyed the entire event. We hope this program continues and targets even higher quality," he added.

Lastly, Dwi Satriyo emphasized that Petrokimia Gresik Teaching is not only aimed at improving the education level in Gresik but also serves as a platform for leadership learning and social awareness for Petrokimia Gresik personnel, primarily composed of Millennials. This ensures that the company's operational business also demonstrates a commitment to the field of education.
