Commemorating 51st Anniversary, Petrokimia Gresik Renews Tradition of Sharing Blessings with Pedicab Drivers and the Local Community

In honor of its 51st anniversary, Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustry Solutions company and a proud member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, demonstrated its commitment to community welfare by extending benevolence to 565 pedicab drivers ("abang becak") and 12,540 residents in the vicinity of the company. The total value of the distributed essential goods and cash amounted to Rp1.4 billion. Petrokimia Gresik's CEO, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, symbolically presented the donations at two locations: Pancasila Field in Sukorame Village and GOR Tri Dharma Petrokimia Gresik on Wednesday, July 12.

Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, CEO of Petrokimia Gresik, stated that this initiative is part of the company's ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental (CSRE) through the Petrokimia Gresik Cares and Shares program.

"On our anniversary, we express gratitude for 51 years of Petrokimia Gresik's contribution to the nation's prosperity. This achievement is inseparable from the support of the local community. Sharing blessings with the community and pedicab drivers is just one of our many programs, a token of appreciation to the people around our company," said Dwi Satriyo.

The distributed aid included over ten thousand packages of staple goods containing rice and cooking oil for residents in 7 urban villages and 1 rural area surrounding the company, including Tlogopojok, Lumpur, Ngipik, Karangturi, Sukorame, Kroman, Karangpoh, and Roomo. The total value of the distributed goods amounted to Rp1.25 billion.

Dwi Satriyo personally engaged in door-to-door distribution in Sukorame Village, accompanied by similar efforts by Petrokimia Gresik employees in various other neighborhoods. This approach aimed to foster a closer relationship between the company and the harmonious local community.

Arif Wicaksono, Gresik District Head, expressed gratitude for Petrokimia Gresik's ongoing efforts to share blessings with the community. He emphasized that Petrokimia Gresik consistently contributes, not only during the company's anniversary but also on other occasions such as Ramadan and other significant moments.

"I hope the community continues to support Petrokimia Gresik's business endeavors, as the company's commitment continues to progress hand in hand with the community," he added.

Echoing this sentiment, Dewi Aisyah, a resident of Sukorame Village and a recipient of the aid, confirmed that Petrokimia Gresik regularly provides such support. She asserted that this assistance significantly contributes to her family's needs, especially with the new school year approaching, adding to the family's financial responsibilities.

"Thank you, Petrokimia Gresik. This assistance is very beneficial for us. We hope Petrokimia Gresik continues to thrive, and its contributions to the community remain unwavering," she remarked.

For pedicab drivers, Petrokimia Gresik distributed funds amounting to Rp150 million, along with towel souvenirs and refreshments, supporting the livelihoods of pedicab drivers operating in Gresik and the surrounding areas.

Dwi Satriyo emphasized that Petrokimia Gresik acknowledges the positive impact pedicab drivers have on employees, families, and the general public by providing an environmentally friendly and passenger-friendly transportation alternative.

"We hope pedicab drivers continue to contribute to maintaining peace and security, as they have done so far, especially in the vicinity of the company and Petrokimia Gresik's residential complex," he added.

One of the pedicab drivers, Nawi, expressed his gratitude, stating that the funds he received would be sent to his family in Bangkalan.

"Alhamdulillah, I can send an additional remittance to my family in Bangkalan, which can be used for my children's needs in the boarding school," said Nawi, a native of Bangkalan, Madura.

In conclusion, Dwi Satriyo revealed that this year's Petrokimia Gresik anniversary activities involved the local community extensively, aiming to ensure that the company's presence brings tangible benefits to the community.

"While our contributions may not meet all needs, we hope that these initiatives bring meaningful benefits and are utilized effectively. In our over half-century of existence, Petrokimia Gresik aims to provide meaningful contributions to the community around our company.
