Entering Planting Season, President Director of Petrokimia Gresik Ensure The Optimal Production of Subsidized Fertilizer

Petrokimia Gresik is an Agroindustry Solution company and a member Pupuk Indonesia holding ensures that the production of subsidized fertilizers at the beginning of the planting season from April to September 2021 runs optimally. This was conveyed by the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo when receiving a working visit from the Deputy Minister of Agriculture RI, Harvick Hasnul Qolbi, at Wisma Kebomas, Thursday (1/4/2021).

"Alhamdulillah, even though the Covid-19 outbreak is still around us, Petrokimia Gresik is able to carry out its duties according to the target," said Dwi Satriyo.

In 2021, Petrokimia Gresik received the mandate to distribute subsidized fertilizer of 4.9 million tons. Meanwhile, the production capacity of Petrokimia Gresik from its 31 factories reaches 8.9 million tons a year.

"Our production capacity is still far above the mandate of subsidies from the government, so we ensure it is safe," he said.

Dwi Satriyo also ensures that the production of subsidized liquid organic fertilizer is also running optimally. Petrokimia Gresik has the task of distributing subsidized liquid organic fertilizer of 1.5 million liters to 11 (eleven) provinces, namely South Sumatra, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi , and West Nusa Tenggara.

Petrokimia Gresik has prepared a factory to produce subsidized liquid organic fertilizer with a capacity of 264 thousand liters per month or 3.16 million liters per year. So that the company is ready if there is an additional subsidy mandate for the subsidized liquid organic fertilizer.

Meanwhile, as an educational step related to these products, Petrokimia Gresik has supported Pupuk Indonesia activities in Bojonegoro Regency. Through a demonstration plot, Petrokimia Gresik invites farmers to test the use of these fertilizers.

Dwi Satriyo further added, in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers, Petrokimia Gresik adheres to the 6 Right Principles, namely Right Place, Place Price, Right Amount, Right Quality, Right Type, and Right Time. As well as being escorted by field officers throughout Indonesia who regularly coordinate with the Department of Agriculture, Field Extension Officers, farmer groups, and local authorities.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Achmad Bakir Pasaman, in front of the Deputy Agriculture Minister, said that the stock of subsidized fertilizers had been prepared in warehouse line 1 (producers) to line 4 (official kiosks) totaling 2.1 million tons. This amount is sufficient for the needs for the next six weeks.

"We always try to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fertilizers is in accordance with the existing regulations, be it the Minister of Trade Regulation or MOA. The stock is three times more than the government minimum stock, so it is sufficient to meet the needs of farmers this planting season, "he said.

Bakir also explained that to help smooth the distribution of subsidized fertilizers, Pupuk Indonesia is supported by a distribution network that can reach all parts of Indonesia, which has 9 (nine) packing units, 6 (six) Distribution Center (DC) units, 203 ships, 6,000 more trucks, 595 warehouses with a capacity of 3.1 million tons, and a distributor network of 1,200 with more than 29,000 official kiosks.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Harvick explained that he came to Petrokimia Gresik to monitor the production of subsidized fertilizers at the beginning of this planting season. So that it is available when needed by farmers.

"In accordance with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, we ensure that the farmers' subsidized fertilizer needs are met, so that the government's target for food self-sufficiency is accomplished," he said.

The Deputy Minister also ensured that in April 2021 the rice stock from the farmers was sufficient for national food needs. (*/Hartono)
