Petrokimia Gresik, a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding company, is currently organizing the social project "Youth Action by BESTRO" in collaboration with BESTRO scholarship recipients, a group of students. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to nurturing outstanding young generations in Indonesia.
Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, represented by Kadek Ardhika WK, Vice President (VP) of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Petrokimia Gresik, emphasizes that Petrokimia Gresik not only provides full-cover scholarships for BESTRO recipients but also imparts soft skills training. The "Youth Action by BESTRO" social project is a tangible contribution by BESTRO recipients to empower their generation and help them recognize their potential.
"Petrokimia Gresik, in carrying out its business operations, is not only focused on delivering the best products and services in Agroindustry Solutions but is also committed to advancing human resources in the homeland, especially in Gresik, through its Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program," states Kadek.
The Youth Action by BESTRO program commences with an online webinar themed "Mental Health: Know Yourself with Love Yourself," attracting approximately 500 participants. Farah Laila, owner of Kenzho Learning Center Sidoarjo, and Bunny Femina, a Content Creator & Public Speaker, are featured as speakers.
"The goal of this webinar is to help young participants realize and explore their potential, as well as equip them with the ability to handle life pressures in various situations. The hope is that the young generation of Indonesia becomes more productive and capable of making significant contributions," says Kadek.
In addition to the webinar, the "Youth Action by BESTRO" program also includes social experiments and counseling sessions for participants.
BESTRO recipient and Chairman of the Youth Action by BESTRO Committee, Mustafa Kemal Zasha, explains that Youth Action is Petrokimia Gresik's latest mentoring program. Through this initiative, BESTRO recipients gain improvements in soft skills, including team building, creative processes, event organizing skills, communication skills, and event promotion. As a result, the webinar attracts 533 participants from across Indonesia.
"The experiences provided are valuable for our involvement in student activities on our respective campuses," says Mustafa, a student at Universitas Negeri Surabaya.
Meanwhile, Petrokimia Gresik has been running the BESTRO S1 program since 2012. To date, a total of 139 individuals have received the BESTRO scholarship, with 94 of them successfully completing their undergraduate studies.
"With access to quality education, we hope to enhance the quality of life for BESTRO recipients, leading to improved well-being. Graduates will inspire and contribute to the future of our nation," concludes Kadek.
