During the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1444 H, Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustry Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, presented sacrificial animals consisting of 17 cows and 98 goats to mosques, prayer rooms, and the local community. The sacrificial animals, valued at Rp947 million (approximately $66,000), were symbolically handed over by the Chairman of the Nurul Jannah Mosque's Caretaker Board at Petrokimia Gresik, Widodo Heru Sulistyo, representing the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, to the Chairman of the Sacrificial Committee, Firmandika Harda, after the Eid prayer in Gresik, East Java, some time ago.
Separately, Dwi Satriyo conveyed that before distributing to the community, veterinarians had conducted checks on each sacrificial animal from Petrokimia Gresik. The health of the sacrificial animals is a priority to ensure they are safe for consumption, providing a positive impact on public health.
"Being healthy is one of the mandatory requirements for sacrificial animals. In addition to being a commitment to fulfilling Islamic sharia, the health of sacrificial animals is also crucial for the people who consume them," said Dwi Satriyo.
This donation of sacrificial animals is part of Petrokimia Gresik's Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility (CSRE) program and is a regular agenda during every Eid al-Adha. These sacrificial animals also serve as an expression of gratitude from the company for the community's support over its 51 years of operation.
"The aid of sacrificial animals this year has significant meaning. The company has been able to meet, even surpassing targets in supporting national food resilience and realizing sustainable agriculture for over half a century, which is undoubtedly due to the support of the local community," emphasized Dwi Satriyo.
This Eid al-Adha activity also represents Petrokimia Gresik's support for the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the livestock sector. Some of the sacrificial animals distributed to the community were also purchased from partner farmers supported by the company.
"In addition to being a form of Petrokimia Gresik's participation in religious activities, this donation of sacrificial animals has a dual benefit in advancing partner farmers supported by Petrokimia Gresik. Therefore, we hope the community continues to provide support to Petrokimia Gresik so that it can deliver even greater benefits in the future," concluded Dwi Satriyo.
