Ramadan Blessings: Petrokimia Gresik Gives Back Nearly Rp 2 Billion to Local Community

Throughout this Ramadan season, Petrokimia Gresik, a member of the Pupuk Indonesia Agroindustrial Solutions company, has shared blessings totaling nearly Rp2 billion with the communities surrounding its facilities. During the Safari Ramadan 1445H at mosques nearby, Petrokimia Gresik also provided operational support to the mosques recently visited.

"Alhamdulillah, during this Ramadan, we can once again foster connections with the Gresik community. We break our fast together and perform tarawih prayers with the mosque congregations surrounding the company. Petrokimia Gresik has also provided assistance for the operational needs of the visited mosques, ensuring that the Ramadan activities there are lively," stated Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, on Saturday (3/30/2024).

Over the course of three days, the Petrokimia Gresik Directorate visited several mosques, including Masjid Al Muhajirin in Desa Pongangan; Masjid Roudlotul Abror in Roomo; Masjid Roudlotul Jannah in Tlogo Pojok; Masjid Al Ikhlas Nusantara 1 in Randuagung; Masjid Karomah in Lumpur; and finally, Masjid Baitul Amin in Kedanyang.

During this Safari Ramadan, Petrokimia Gresik also provided assistance to each mosque for their operational needs throughout Ramadan. Consequently, it is expected that the worship activities during Ramadan in these mosques will be even more vibrant.

"In addition to greeting the congregations around the company, this Safari Ramadan activity is also a form of the company's contribution or benefit to the community. The company is present amidst the community in various moments, including during Ramadan," he added.

This assistance complements Petrokimia Gresik's previous aid to 143 places of worship and social institutions surrounding the company, totaling Rp702.5 million. The assistance was distributed to 15 mosques, each receiving Rp7.5 million. Additionally, assistance was provided to 78 prayer rooms (with each receiving Rp5 million), 23 Islamic boarding schools, and 27 orphanages, with each institution receiving Rp4 million in aid.

Furthermore, during this Ramadan, Petrokimia Gresik also provided donations to orphans, mosque imams, Quranic school teachers, MSMEs, and affordable basic needs packages totaling Rp1.16 billion. Thus, the total assistance provided by Petrokimia Gresik during Ramadan amounts to Rp1.96 billion.

"We hope that the Safari Ramadan activities and this assistance can help foster the spirit of worship in the holy month of Ramadan, enabling us to become better individuals than before," he expressed.

Dwi Satriyo stated that Petrokimia Gresik's progress at nearly 52 years of age is inseparable from the support of the community. Hence, the business operations carried out by Petrokimia Gresik in maintaining national food security run smoothly.

"Some of the mosque congregations we visited include retirees from Petrokimia Gresik. The founding fathers of Petrokimia Gresik always taught us that the company's progress must be aligned with its benefits to the community. One example is through these aids," Dwi Satriyo concluded.
