Gresik Vice Regent, Moh. Qosim in attending the " Agreement Signing of Bestro Full Cover Scholarship for Senior High School and Undergraduate" in Wisma Kebomas, Friday, September 21st, 2018, said that the best long-term investment for people's welfare, national independence, and hereafter happiness is education. According to Qosim, this responsibility is not an easy matter, but it is fortunate that the Gresik District Government has Petrokimia Gresik (PG) which always helps support the responsibility in education, one of them is the full cover Petrokimia Gresik Scholarship programme. Gresik Vice Regent considers that the social role of PG is the largest among companies in Gresik
"Petrokimia Gresik, which is known as a limited company, is supposed to be profit oriented. But in fact, social care is also a major concern of Petrokimia Gresik. This social concern may God speed the Petrokimia Gresik", said Vice Regent.
To the Bestro recipients and their families, Qosim asked them to be grateful having the helps from PG. The form of gratitude includes prayer for the continuous operation of Petrokimia Gresik, and use this scholarship wisely by studying hard and attending schools.
PG President Director, Nugroho Christijanto said that Bestro full cover scholarship is one of the company's commitments to be active in empowering communities around the company. Management always strives for the PG existence to benefit the community, especially those around the company.
As a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia, PG has a very important roles and tasks in supporting the realization of National Food Security. PG is determined to continue growing and developing into a company to be an agro-industry solution. "Along with these developments, PG also wants the community around the company to also grow and progress”, President Director said.
Recipients of this 6th scholarship for undergraduate programme are 9 students who graduated from four high schools in Gresik. They are the five students in Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Surabaya (ITS) and four students in Universitas Brawijaya. This full cover scholarship is given within a maximum of four years, starting from July 1st, 2018 to June 30th, 2022 amounting totally up to 926.8 million rupiahs. The total recipients of undergraduate programme scholarship in 2018 is 95 students who spread across several state universities.
While the recipients of Bestro full cover scholarship for high school students in this year are the fifth generation and as many 25 students. The high school scholarship is given in a maximum of 3 years starting from July 1st, 2018 to June 30th, 2021 with a total amount of 675 million rupiahs. The total number of recipients for this high school scholarship programme in 2018 is 172 students who spread among public high schools in Gresik. Hartono
