Petrokimia Gresik Celebrates Independence Day with "Fun Walk" Strengthening Community Bonds and Supporting Local Businesses

In commemoration of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) and its 51st anniversary, Petrokimia Gresik, a leading Agroindustry Solution company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia Holding, organized a "Fun Walk for the Petrokimia Gresik Family" in Gresik, East Java, on Sunday (20/8). This event serves as a manifestation of the company's commitment to empower Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (UMKM) around its premises.

Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, stated that the "Fun Walk for the Petrokimia Gresik Family" was attended by employees and their families, totaling more than 2,000 participants. The event also featured 28 bazaar stands participated in by UMKM around the company.

"Every employee invited their spouses and children. This, of course, represents a potential market for UMKM, especially those selling snacks," said Dwi Satriyo.

The route of this "Fun Walk" started from the Tri Dharma Sports Hall, then traversed Ahmad Yani Street, the Petrokimia Gresik Housing Complex, and returned to the Tri Dharma Sports Hall. Among the UMKM involved in this activity, eight are members of the Community Snack Group (Lontar), fostered by Petrokimia Gresik, and 20 are UMKM under the auspices of the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Petrokimia Gresik.

Moreover, the bazaar stands also provided a playground for the children of the "Fun Walk" participants. One of the stands was set up by a UMKM located around the company.

"Petrokimia Gresik has a great concern for UMKM. Many of the company's anniversary activities involve UMKM, and we consistently realize this commitment from year to year," he explained.

Meanwhile, bazaar participant Afidha, also a member of Lontar from Ngipik Village, expressed that the "Fun Walk" activity also benefits UMKM around the company through the provided bazaar stands.

"Alhamdulillah, all our snacks sold out. We hope this activity continues; in every Petrokimia Gresik event, UMKM is always involved," she stated.

Similar sentiments were shared by Ani, a Lontar member from Sukorame Village. She expressed gratitude because several Petrokimia Gresik anniversary events also involve UMKM around the company.

"The company's concern brings benefits to us. We are grateful because our various snacks sold out today. It will definitely increase our income," she exclaimed.

Next, one of the "Fun Walk" participants, Iwan Febrianto, found the event quite enjoyable because it also involved UMKM around the company, even though this activity was an internal event.

"I'm happy this event is not just for health, but also for shopping. We can empower UMKM around Petrokimia Gresik," he briefly stated.

Finally, Dwi Satriyo added that this "Fun Walk" is the company's effort to maintain the health of employees and their families, ensuring optimal employee performance. Additionally, the "Fun Walk" serves as a platform for the company to strengthen harmonious relationships among employees, including their families. This will further boost productivity for Petrokimia Gresik.

"This moment can enhance a sense of togetherness, strengthen solidarity, and foster a familial atmosphere within the Petrokimia Gresik community. As we know, strong collaboration and cooperation from every individual in the company are key to Petrokimia Gresik's success," he concluded.
