PG SENDS AID TO TSUNAMI VICTIMS

Event : Aid Giving to Tsunami Victims

The tsunami disaster due to volcanic activity of Mount Krakatau struck five regencies in Banten and Lampung provinces on December 22nd, 2018 ago, touched PT Petrokimia Gresik (PG) leaders’ and employees’ heart.

Through Petrokimia Gresik Caring and Sharing programme, PG Marketing Director, Meinu Sadariyo, visited one of the affected districts, namely South Lampung Regency on Monday (1/7). There, Meinu handed over hundreds of basic food packages, school supplies, and daily necessities to those affected by tsunami, in total 100 million rupiahs.

Details of the aids given today were rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, blankets, brooms, clothes, clothes, uniforms, and school bags for children.

All of these aids were given symbolically by Meinu to the Organisation Head of Regional Secretariat, South Lampung, Puji Sukamto, and was witnessed by Bureau of Regional Disaster Management in South Lampung, as well as the local armies and police officers.

While the distribution will be given to residents of Kunjir Village and Way Muli in Rajabasa District. These two villages were the worst affected areas by the tsunami in South Lampung Regency. Helps will be delivered through "Berkah Tani" Fertilizer Kiosks in Kunjir Village.

"We, PT Petrokimia Gresik, a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), eventhough we are far located in Gresik, East Java, but we also feel what people affected by tsunami feel, especially in this South Lampung Regency”, Meinu said.

Previously, Meinu continued, Petrokimia Gresik Employee Union with companies within Petrokimia Gresik Group (PT Gresik Cipta Sejahtera and PT Petrokopindo Cipta Selaras),

synergized with state-owned company PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa, had also given similar aids to tsunami-affected residents in Pandeglang, Banten, and South Lampung, reached 77 million rupiahs.

"Hopefully what we had given can be beneficial to affected people, and what the most important thing is, to build a sense of optimism for them to get up and build the area back", Meinu stated.
