Petrokimia Gresik Once Again Achieves Platinum Rank At The Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2023 International Event

Petrokimia Gresik, a leading agro-industrial solutions company and member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, has once again attained the Platinum Rank at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2023 international event organized by the National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR). The award was received by the Finance and General Affairs Director (DKU) of Petrokimia Gresik, Robby Setiabudi Madjid, representing the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, in Jakarta recently.

In a separate statement, Dwi Satriyo conveyed that this recognition was achieved by Petrokimia Gresik due to the Sustainability Report (SR) 2022, which was assessed to have met the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, effectively communicating the impacts or benefits of the company's business processes.

"Through good reporting, stakeholders can also understand the programs implemented by the company. This award is somewhat a result of Petrokimia Gresik's various sustainable programs in 2022 across various sectors," emphasized Dwi Satriyo.

With the theme "Facing Challenges for Achieving Sustainable Growth," Petrokimia Gresik's SR for the year 2022 showcased the company's outstanding sustainable performance, particularly in the environmental aspect.

Regarding emissions, Petrokimia Gresik has been routinely measured by external and internal parties. External measurements are conducted by Independent Laboratories accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) every six months for each emission source. Meanwhile, internal measurements are conducted by Petrokimia Gresik's Chemical Testing Laboratory every month for each emission source.

Furthermore, in terms of energy, Petrokimia Gresik in its SR 2022 committed to ongoing innovation in energy source utilization savings. Several innovations to reduce energy consumption at Petrokimia Gresik include Feeding Ammonia Vapor in Plant ZA I and ZA III processes, process optimization by substituting High Pressure Steam (HPS) with Medium Pressure Steam (MPS) at 173-C Ammonia Plant, energy conservation with renewable energy, and several other innovations.

"Transparency regarding energy usage and emission management in the Sustainability Report also contributed to Petrokimia Gresik receiving the Platinum Rank," reiterated Dwi Satriyo.

Furthermore, Dwi Satriyo explained that in addition to environmental management, another aspect of sustainable performance presented in the SR 2022 pertained to community empowerment. In this program, Petrokimia Gresik invested Rp53.85 billion in social and community activities in 2022, which was higher than the previous year's Rp52.96 billion.

"Through programs based on a commitment to grow and advance together with the community, Petrokimia Gresik has also successfully increased environmental satisfaction levels, reaching a score of 86.80," revealed Dwi Satriyo.

On the other hand, Petrokimia Gresik's sustainable reporting also addressed aspects of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) and Human Resources (HR), where the productivity of each Petrokimia Gresik employee per year generated a value of Rp20.33 billion for the company.

Meanwhile, the ASRRAT Award is presented by NCCR in collaboration with the Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners (ICSP) to institutions or companies that have successfully implemented sustainable performance through the assessment of the quality of sustainability reports based on GRI standards.

The aim is to appreciate companies that have produced sustainability reports and to encourage improvements in both the quantity and quality of reporting, as well as to enhance corporate commitments to continue contributing to the environment and society.

The ASRRAT Award this year is the 19th and was participated in by representatives from various countries and assessed by competent assessors. 2023 marks the third time Petrokimia Gresik has participated in this event, achieving Gold Rank in 2021, Platinum Rank in 2022, and again in 2023.
