Petrokimia Gresik Empowers Economic Growth on Gili Island, Bawean, with "PG Bakti Pelosok Negeri" Program

Petrokimia Gresik, a prominent Agroindustry Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia group, has extended a series of contributions to boost economic growth on Gili Island, Bawean, Gresik Regency, through the "Petrokimia Gresik (PG) Bakti Pelosok Negeri" program. The symbolic handover of assistance was conducted by Robby Setiabudi Madjid, Director of Finance and General Affairs at Petrokimia Gresik, to representatives of the beneficiaries. The event was witnessed by the Gresik Regent, Fandi Ahmad Yani, and officials from the Regional Leadership Forum (Forkopimda) of Gresik Regency.

The assistance, with a total value exceeding IDR 300 million, includes funds for the development of eco-tourism on Gili Island, organic and non-organic waste processing equipment, space and machinery for fish processing, and kWh Meter assistance for the community and public facilities on Gili Island. Additionally, Petrokimia Gresik provided financial aid for the rejuvenation of inspirational reading spaces and educational support for students on Gili Island.

"Gili Island has immense potential for development, especially in the tourism and creative industry sectors. If optimized, it can drive local economic growth. To advance it, attention and care from various parties are required. Therefore, we express our gratitude to the Gresik Regency Government and the Bawean community for giving us the opportunity to contribute once again," stated Robby.

He explained that "PG Bakti Pelosok Negeri" is one of the activities in celebration of Petrokimia Gresik's 51st Anniversary. The company's journey would not have been possible without the contribution of the community in supporting Petrokimia Gresik's smooth operations in meeting the country's fertilizer needs.

"At this age of the company, which is more than half a century, we are not only committed to consistently providing the best products and services in the agroindustry sector but also committed to making a positive contribution to the nation, including the local community," he said.

Robby further emphasized that this activity is a manifestation of Petrokimia Gresik's commitment to supporting the welfare of the local community. He believes that all this assistance is an investment for a better future, both for individuals and the community as a whole.

"PG Bakti Pelosok Negeri not only provides physical benefits but also strengthens social relationships between the company and the community by involving Petrokimia Gresik's employees. This is a great opportunity to gather, share stories, and build closer relationships," he concluded.

In the same location, the Regent of Gresik expressed appreciation for Petrokimia Gresik's concern for the people of Gresik, including those on Gili Island. Petrokimia Gresik is one of the companies that has a high level of concern in supporting the Gresik Regency Government's programs in various sectors. He revealed that the people of Gili Island are part of the Gresik Regency community that is lagging behind in terms of electricity.

"Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), the people of Gili Island can now enjoy electricity. In addition, various CSR assistance from Petrokimia Gresik is hopefully beneficial for the people of Gili Island," he said.

"Building Gresik requires support from many stakeholders, including companies like Petrokimia Gresik. Hopefully, this support can be continuously increased for Gresik to progress further," he added.

Meanwhile, Muh Saifullah, the Manager of the Inspirational Reading Room, expressed gratitude to Petrokimia Gresik for showing concern for the people of Gili Island, which is 81 miles away from Gresik Port. This concern will motivate the local community to continue building Gili Island for the better.

As additional information, Petrokimia Gresik's presence in Bawean is not the first. Previously, Petrokimia Gresik was present among elementary school teachers in Bawean to inspire them to conduct creative and enjoyable learning using the latest technology through the "PG Milenial Mengajar" (PG Millennial Teaching) program. Petrokimia Gresik will continue to contribute to the community in line with the company's progress.
