Petrokimia Gresik Recognized with "Jatim Bangkit Award 2023" for Outstanding Contribution to East Java's Recovery

Petrokimia Gresik, a leading Agroindustry Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia group, has received the "Jatim Bangkit Award 2023" in the category of "Best State-Owned Enterprises/Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMN/BUMD) Supporting Recovery from the Pandemic in East Java." The award was presented by the Secretary of the East Java Provincial Government, Adhy Karyono, to Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, in Surabaya on Wednesday evening (18/10/2023), witnessed by the East Java Governor, Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

The Governor of East Java expressed that handling the pandemic and the post-pandemic recovery require collective efforts. The Jatim Bangkit Award is evidence of the significant contributions made by various stakeholders, including Petrokimia Gresik, actively supporting the Provincial Government in facing the challenges of the pandemic and the economic recovery that followed.

"On that day (when there was a shortage of medical oxygen during the pandemic), the sense of togetherness was incredibly strong. Thanks to everyone who has given their best for the people of East Java," stated Khofifah.

Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, after receiving the award, expressed gratitude for the recognition given to Petrokimia Gresik. He mentioned that this acknowledgment would motivate Petrokimia Gresik to contribute even more to the progress of East Java in the future.

"Petrokimia Gresik, in fulfilling its commitment to advancing domestic agriculture, not only produces innovative and high-quality products. More than that, alongside the company's growth, Petrokimia Gresik cares and aims to provide even more benefits to the people, especially those in East Java," said Dwi Satriyo.

During the pandemic, which affected nearly all aspects of life, particularly the economic sector, one of Petrokimia Gresik's focuses was supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which are essential pillars of the grassroots economy.

The support for MSMEs by Petrokimia Gresik is packaged in the "Mangga" program, an acronym for Mitra Kebanggaan (Pride Partners). Mangga represents the transformation of the Micro and Small Business Funding (PUMK) program since 1984.

Through Mangga, Petrokimia Gresik provides not only capital assistance but also mentoring and support for MSME players from various regions, especially during the post-pandemic economic recovery in East Java. In 2022, Petrokimia Gresik assisted 337 MSMEs, with a disbursed revolving fund amounting to IDR 41.87 billion.

In addition, in 2022, Petrokimia Gresik also implemented Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility (CSR & ER) programs in various sectors, including health, education, the environment, and other areas in East Java, with a total budget of almost IDR 12 billion.

The judging criteria for this award also took into account the company's contribution to helping the government prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the community during the pandemic. Petrokimia Gresik, as the Coordinator of the BUMN Disaster Response Task Force in East Java, during March to April 2020, allocated IDR 7.9 billion for assistance in the health, social, economic, religious, and agricultural sectors in 20 regencies/cities in East Java.

Furthermore, the company also distributed 9.9 tons of medical oxygen to accelerate the treatment of Covid-19 patients. Petrokimia Gresik also assisted the government in ensuring the availability of medical oxygen by reactivating the Air Separation Plant (ASP) oxygen production unit.

"Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), we were able to get through the Covid-19 pandemic, and Petrokimia Gresik could contribute to the economic recovery of the people of East Java post-Covid-19," concluded Dwi Satriyo.

For your information, Jatim Bangkit Award 2023 is an award organized in commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the East Java Provincial Government in collaboration with JTV Media. The award is presented to government entities, businesses, and community organizations that have collaborated to accelerate economic recovery and revival from the Covid-19 pandemic.
