Along with its business transformation steps, Petrokimia Gresik is always committed to support environmental preservation. One of them is by carrying out activities "Reforestation Coastal Areas".
After the virtual ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia 75th Independence Anniversary (17/08/2020), the Petrokimia Gresik Directors planted 6 (six) types of shade trees on the coastline of the Petrokimia Gresik industrial complex. The 6 types of trees are White Banyan (Beringin Putih), Mentaok, Mimba, Dewandaru, Nagasari, and Kepel.
President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Rahmad Pribadi said that this activity to promote Reforestation around the coast is a form of Petrokimia Gresik's concern for environmental preservation.
"I believe that the balance of the ecosystem has a significant impact on the harmony and well-being of human life and other living things. For that, we must maintain the balance of the Petrokimia Gresik environment, "said the President Director.
The existence of reforestation will make the land function optimally for the surrounding area. "I hope the green area of Petrokimia Gresik can contribute to the lungs of Gresik Regency. This contribution begins with improving the cleanliness of the air in the factory area and its surroundings, "said the President Director.
The President Director hopes that this reforestation activity will be carried out consistently and continuously to maintain the balance of the ecosystem and the preservation of biodiversity in the Petrokimia Gresik environment and the area around the company.
