As the Eid al-Fitr 1445H approaches, Petrokimia Gresik, a leading Agroindustrial Solution company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, once again organized a free "mudik" journey, with 200 travelers taking four routes. The flag-off ceremony for the "Enjoyable Mudik with BUMN 2024" was conducted simultaneously online with the Pupuk Indonesia Group across various regions of Indonesia on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Rahmad Pribadi, CEO of Pupuk Indonesia, highlighted that a significant number of accidents occur during Eid al-Fitr "mudik" moments, particularly involving private vehicles, especially motorcycles. Pupuk Indonesia aims to assist 1,446 travelers in reducing the risk of accidents by opting for mass transportation instead of personal vehicles.

"This collective 'mudik' effort is a BUMN initiative to shift from using private vehicles to mass transportation. We seek support to ensure Pupuk Indonesia fulfills this responsibility effectively, ensuring programs like this continue not only this year but in the years to come," he emphasized.

From Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, CEO of Petrokimia Gresik, expressed that the "Enjoyable Mudik with BUMN 2024" initiative, initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and inaugurated by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir, is a joint effort of five subsidiaries within the Pupuk Indonesia Group, including Petrokimia Gresik. Departures across the subsidiaries were synchronized online.

"The departures are from each operational area of the company. In the case of Petrokimia Gresik, it's from Gresik. The destinations vary across different cities or regions. Through this free 'mudik' program, Petrokimia Gresik aims to consistently engage with the community, including during eagerly anticipated 'mudik' moments like today," said Dwi Satriyo.

Additionally, Petrokimia Gresik dispatched four buses to different routes: Bojonegoro-Ngawi, Kediri-Tulungagung, Malang - Blitar, and Nganjuk-Madiun.

Participants of this free 'mudik' from Petrokimia Gresik are diverse, including members of the local community, employees of the Petrokimia Gresik Group, and interns. This initiative, part of Petrokimia Gresik's Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER), also involves students or interns.

"Throughout Ramadan, Petrokimia Gresik has shared blessings, including aid for Islamic religious teachers, mosque caretakers, and orphans. Additionally, we assisted the general public through affordable markets, support for SMEs, and operational support for places of worship and social institutions. Today, we are delighted to spread joy through free 'mudik'," emphasized Dwi Satriyo.

One of the participants, M. Sidiq Amanudin from Srembi Village, Kebomas Subdistrict, Gresik Regency, expressed his preference for the Petrokimia Gresik's free 'mudik' due to its comfort and safety compared to private vehicles, especially motorcycles. Udin, as he is commonly known, a private factory worker, mentioned that this is his second time participating in the Petrokimia Gresik's free 'mudik,' expressing gratitude for the convenience, especially the absence of traffic jams.

"InshaAllah, my wife, children, and I can visit Nganjuk, my wife's hometown, through this collective 'mudik.' This is the second year we've participated. It's more comfortable without traffic jams," he added briefly.

In addition to the free 'mudik,' participants received amenities from Petrokimia Gresik, including snacks, T-shirts, and hats. Each bus is equipped with First Aid Kits (P3K) to ensure a smooth journey.

Finally, Dwi Satriyo emphasized that the participation of travelers in this free 'mudik' supports the government's efforts to reduce accident risks during travel, which are typically high during 'mudik' season.

"With this collective 'mudik,' the journey becomes more comfortable and safe. We thank everyone for optimizing the free 'mudik' program organized by Petrokimia Gresik," concluded Dwi Satriyo.
