Petrokimia Gresik is an Agroindustry Solution company and a member of Pupuk Indonesia holding signed a cooperation letter of program assistance community development (comdev) and social mapping with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta.
"This collaboration is in the framework of Petrokimia Gresik to participate in the Proper assessment event (Company Performance Rating Program) from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia," said President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo during a virtual signing, Thursday (25/02 /21).
As it is well known, Petrokimia Gresik has now received Green predicate for two consecutive years, namely in 2019 and 2020. This award proves that environmental management and production activities at Petrokimia Gresik have been running well and efficiently, and can provide benefits to the empowerment of the surrounding community.
Dwi Satriyo revealed that the collaboration to improve corporate governance in the environmental sector with UGM, especially public relations, is a real effort for Petrokimia Gresik to win the Gold award, which is the highest award in Proper.
"According to the Proper policy, Petrokimia Gresik has the opportunity to become a Gold candidate if it is able to maintain its Green ranking this year or three times in a row. Alhamdulillah, Petrokimia Gresik is just one step closer," said Dwi Satriyo.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Ministry of SOE, Petrokimia Gresik has been running the Partnership and Community Development Program adopting the concept of comdev, by providing assistance in the form of charity, capacity building, infrastructure and empowerment.
Dwi Satriyo believes that in its implementation, the company still has to clean up and create innovation. Petrokimia Gresik also synergizes with stakeholders.
In 2018 the company signed a memorandum of understanding with UGM regarding cooperation in the fields of education and training in Human Resources (HR), research and community service. Thus, since 2018, Petrokimia Gresik has collaborated with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UGM in the field of Comdev Program assistance.
"In 2021 we will collaborate again in the form of comdev program assistance by the Community Development Officer (CDO), and formulation of social mapping studies for villages around the company. Thus the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program carried out by the company is right on target. and according to community needs, "said Dwi Satriyo.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Proper is one of the goals in this cooperation, however, the welfare of the community remains a priority in implementing the comdev program.
As a company that is located very close to the community, making Petrokimia Gresik grow and develop along with the development of the community. Therefore, the comdev program is the focus of the company in maintaining company stability. Dwi Satriyo hopes that this collaboration can produce empowerment programs that can improve community welfare.
Dwi Satriyo emphasized that concern for the environment is one of the instruments to deliver Petrokimia Gresik to become a market leader and dominant player to support the agroindustry sector. (* /Hartono)
