PT Petrokimia Gresik (PG), again, gained the Level 5 Green Industry award, or the highest award, from the Ministry of Industry, Republic of Indonesia. The Level 5 Green Industry Trophy and Certificate were given by the Indonesian Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, to PG Director of Production, I Ketut Rusnaya, in Jakarta, December 12th, 2018. For PG, this award is the fifth time in a row, since 2014.
The Green Industry Award is the annual program of the Ministry of Industry,
which is awarded to National Industrial Companies, whose production processes
prioritize efficiency and effectiveness of sustainable resources consumption as
well as utilisation of environmentally friendly, renewable raw materials and
energy.
This program aims to motivate the Industrial Companies in implementing the Green Industry Principles; to socialize the Green Industry programmes; and to prepare the Industrial Companies in complying with the Green Industry Standards. The green industry award classification starts from rank 1 to 5, which is the highest ranking.
The Minister of Industry, Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, in his speech, he said that currently the green industry has become a market demand along with the increasing market concern for environmental sustainability and continuous development.
As an industry that employs advanced technology, the PG production process is always based on good resource efficiency and environmental management. Even PG's environmental management exceeds the requirements in the regulation, in the other words, beyond compliance. PG is determined to be a superior industry that is able to provide food solutions for Indonesia through various fertilizer types and other products as agro-industry solutions.
PG Director of Production, I Ketut Rusnaya said, this Level 5 Green Industry is
the highest recognition from the government for the commitment of Petrokimia
Gresik Management, which has been delivering efficiency in the production
process, as well as yielding good and sustainable environment management.
Other than achieving the trophy and award, PG also received a direct
appreciation from the Minister of Industry, Republic of Indonesia, for winning
the Level 5 Green Industry award in 5 (five) consecutive years. According to
the Minister, the latter award proves the consistency and continuity in
