Securing Eleven Awards at the 2024 IGA, Petrokimia Gresik Crowned as 'The Ultimate' in Environmental Management

Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions company holding member of the Pupuk Indonesia, received the national environmental award Indonesia Green Awards (IGA) 2024 with the title "The Ultimate" after buying eleven awards at once. The award was symbolically handed over by the Chairman of The La Tofi School of CSR, La Tofi as the organizer to Pts. SVP Petrokimia Technology Gresik, Bambang Ariwibowo representing the President Director, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo in Jakarta, recently.

Separately, Dwi Satriyo said that this year is the fifth year Petrokimia Gresik has participated in IGA since 2020. Where positive achievements continue to be improved by Petrokimia Gresik. In 2023, Petrokimia Gresik bagged eight awards, while in 2024 it managed to increase to eleven awards.

"This award is proof that Petrokimia Gresik's environmental management is carried out with a sustainable spirit in all operational lines of the company and the community. As a recipient of PROPER EMAS three times in a row, Petrokimia Gresik continues to improve the company's standards in environmental management," said Dwi Satriyo.

Eleven awards were won by Petrokimia Gresik, including the category of Calculating Carbon Footprint given to the Package Burner System Replacement program in Phonska V; then Organizing Corporate Social Responsibility for the Waste Management Aware Community (MAS DARSA) program; and the Nature Conservation Tourism Development category in the Banana Tran program.

Furthermore, Petrokimia Gresik also received an IGA award in the Plastic Waste Management category for the development of the Company's Residual Plastic Waste Reduction program with Petrobrick Making as an Alternative Step Towards Sustainable Waste Management; Water Resources Rescue category in the Water Efficiency program at the Ammonia Plant Cooling Tower by Changing the Drift Eliminator System.

Petrokimia Gresik also received an award in the Technology Engineering category in Saving Energy or Using Renewable Energy for the Cone Strainer Installation and Chemical Cleaning Optimization program on Ammonia Unitized Chiller at the IB Ammonia Plant; category Developing Biodiversity from the Conic-Shaped Gabion program with Coconut Coir Pots as a Mangrove Rehabilitation Media.

Next, Petrokimia Gresik won the category of Pioneering Pollution Prevention through the NH3 Emission Pollution Load Reduction program with the Manufacture of Spels; category Developing Integrated Waste Treatment from the Banana Rope Spin Program to Utilize Banana Frond Waste in Urea Plant Utilities; Conservation Digitalization category

Nature by Corporate Public Relations from the Integrated Cattle Farm Environment program

(Literacy); and the category of Developing Climate Change Education through the Green Environment Village Implementation program in Gresik.

"In this event, we participated in eleven programs, and Alhamdulillah, all of them received awards. Petrokimia Gresik is always committed to growing and developing with the community. One of them is through community empowerment programs in the environmental sector," said Dwi Satriyo.

He also added that Petrokimia Gresik realizes the company's responsibility not only to produce quality products for agriculture in Indonesia. Petrokimia Gresik also understands that environmental management is also an important instrument to improve business competitiveness, especially at the international level.

For this reason, Dwi Satriyo ensured, that this award will not make Petrokimia Gresik complacent, on the contrary, the company is increasingly motivated to continue to innovate in environmental management. Given that Petrokimia Gresik has a strategic position in supporting national food security, environmental management aspects in the company's operations have always been a priority.
