Ground breaking of the construction Indonesian Agricultural Engineering Polytechnic (PEPI) was done by Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman. The event that took place at Balai Besar Pengembangan Mekanisasi Pertanian (BBP Mektan), Serpong, Tangerang (04/10/19) was also conducted the MoU signing about Strengthening the Human Resource of polytechnic in agriculture sector with PT Petrokimia Gresik.
The MoU signing was carried by President Director of PT Petrokimia Gresik (PG), Rahmad Pribadi with the Head of Agricultural Extension and Human Resource Development Institutions (BPPSDMP) Ministry of Agriculture, Dedi Nursyamsyi.
The signing of the MoU which directly witnessed by Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, aimed to improve the quality of Agriculture Human Resource, in order to support the traditional agriculture transformation program towards modern agriculture which proclaimed by Government.
At this time, PEPI is the first and the only one campus of Agriculture Engineering Polytechnic in Indonesia. The existence of PEPI is expected to make the Indonesian people able to independently produce agricultural goods. In addition, to prepare the generation of Indonesian farmers with technology, so that it has a competitive value at international level.
Previously, PG already cooperates with ATI Makasar Polytechnic to provide the Senior High School graduates through vocational education which link and match with Industry. The effort of farmers regeneration by Ministry of Agriculture is also in line with the program of PG, that is Jambore Petani Muda (JPM). The JPM is a synergy effort between PG and Government to give solution in agriculture and agroindustry sector.
The synergy with Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan) and PEPI, was a form of commitment of PG to support the Indonesian Agricultural Development.
