Four "3 Stars" titles or the highest category were won by Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustry Solutions company as a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding in the international innovation convention "26th Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO)" which was held virtually in Perth, Australia some time ago.
President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo on Thursday (16/9), stated that the achievement in this international event is proof of the company's seriousness in growing and managing a culture of innovation in the company, so that it is able to make a positive contribution to the industrial world in Indonesia and even internationally.
"DNA Petrokimia Gresik is the DNA of Change, so innovation has become part of the company's development strategy," he said.
In this event which was attended by 57 teams from various countries, Petrokimia Gresik sent 4 (four) Innovation Clusters to compete. The four are the Innovation Cluster Operations (GIO) Digital Office, GIO Fleksi, Kuantitatif Suggestion System (SS) and Sludar Sludur SS, which has been accomplished at the national level in the event the Working Meeting on Quality and Productivity Council (TKMPN) 2020.
"The whole team we sent won the title of “3 Stars” which is the highest category in this event,” added Dwi Satriyo.
The innovations created by GIO Digital Office are able to reduce the frequency of problems in creating official documents and speed up the process. This innovation was able to contribute savings of Rp. 839.6 million within 13 months.
Furthermore, the innovation from GIO Fleksi succeeded in reducing downtime for the Urea 1A plant due to raw material failure from 67.7 hours/month to 31.5 hours/month. This innovation is able to generate potential savings of up to IDR 252 billion within 7 (seven) months.
Meanwhile, Quantitative SS was able to reduce the amount of imported ZA Fertilizer that did not meet specifications (off spec) because of the smell, from 46 thousand tons to 0 tons with the Volumetric Method, thereby reducing the potential for company losses due to complaints from end-users.
Finally, SS Slundar Slundur has succeeded in utilizing solid waste from the WWTP pond as a filler material for NPK fertilizers. Based on the calculation of financial performance verification, the implementation of these innovations resulted in savings of IDR 2.9 billion in a year.
"The innovation carried out by Petrokimia Gresik is an effort to increase the company's efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness to become a market leader and dominant player in the agro-industry sector," said Dwi Satriyo.
