Gresik, East Java - In anticipation of the upcoming Proliga 2024 competition, Petrokimia Gresik, a leading Agroindustry company under the Pupuk Indonesia umbrella, has unveiled its women's volleyball team, "Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia" or GPPI. The grand launch event was led by Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, CEO of Petrokimia Gresik, in Gresik, East Java, on Wednesday (17/4/2024) afternoon.

Dwi Satriyo expressed that this grand launch signifies Petrokimia Gresik's significant commitment to supporting sports achievements in the country, particularly in volleyball, a sport that the company has been actively involved in for more than two decades.

"We are grateful that, with the numerous achievements attained, the GPPI women's volleyball team has become a source of pride for the people of Gresik. This undoubtedly has a positive impact on the company, which is committed to advancing sports in Indonesia," emphasized Dwi Satriyo.

He added that Pupuk Indonesia, as the parent company of Petrokimia Gresik, also plays a crucial role in supporting this volleyball club team. Through its flagship product, Phonska Plus, which sponsors the Petrokimia Gresik Volleyball Association (PBV) in Proliga 2024, Phonska Plus aims to foster a positive atmosphere and spirit among the players to achieve optimal results.

"With the support of Phonska Plus, our flagship product, Petrokimia Gresik can continue its full commitment to supporting the PBV Petrokimia Gresik team. Our support includes providing comprehensive training facilities, offering intensive coaching guidance, and ensuring that players maintain a balanced and nutritious diet," he explained.

Meanwhile, Koko Sudiro, Chairman of PBV Petrokimia Gresik, stated that GPPI was formed with a complete composition, comprising foreign players, national athletes, and homegrown talents. The team has undergone intensive training under the guidance of Pedro Bertholomeus Lilipaly, the Head Coach.

The foreign players strengthening GPPI are Bohdana Annisova from Ukraine and Polina Rahimova from Azerbaijan. Additionally, two national team players, Aulia Suci N and Mediol S. Yoku, are part of the lineup. Also included are Shintia Alliva Maulidina, a former national team member, and Dhea Cahya Pitaloka, who has experienced the national team's training center.

The rest of the GPPI lineup for Proliga 2024 includes Nabila Purwita, Bela Sabrina, Siti Romadhani, Ria Mayasari, Alridhania Risqamara, Ajeng Nur Cahya, Geofanny Eka Cahyaningtyas, Putri Nur Hidayanti Agustin, and Janitra Ascarya. Meanwhile, Lasta Nurantara and Anggun Anggraini are designated as reserve players.

Koko added that this team was formed as a developmental platform. PBV Petrokimia Gresik divides its development efforts into three levels: Academy, Junior, and Professional. These classifications are based on players' age, qualifications, and experience.

"The Proliga 2024 will serve as a benchmark for the team's development towards excellence and will enhance the training programs for young athletes to support the future achievements of the PBV Petrokimia Gresik team," he elaborated.

Furthermore, he mentioned that in preparation for Proliga 2024, they have focused on enhancing both individual and team competencies. He expressed optimism about achieving the target of becoming the Champion.

He deemed this target realistic considering that his team secured second place in the previous Proliga 2022 and third place in Proliga 2023. Moreover, his team recently clinched the Livoli Division I title in December 2023 and emerged as the Champion of the Central Java Governor's Cup in February 2024. Additionally, their academy, known as the Petrokimia Volleyball Academy, also secured the top spot in the Nusantara Cup 2024, organized by the PBVSI Central.

"These victories will undoubtedly motivate all Petrokimia Gresik volleyball trainees to continue excelling in future competitions, including Proliga 2024," he asserted.

As for Head Coach Pedro, he confirmed that the GPPI team in Proliga 2024 will feature young players. However, he is confident that his team will deliver their best performance to claim victory.

"These are all young players, of the same age. Especially with the addition of Teh Sinsin (Shintia Alliva Maulidina) and Teh Au (Aulia Suci N). We will strive to the utmost for future achievements," he affirmed.
