PT Petrokimia Gresik (Persero), an Agroindustrial Solutions company and member of the PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) holding, continues to deliver benefits to communities surrounding the company. This time, Petrokimia Gresik distributed assistance valued at Rp100 million to fishermen groups in Lumpur Village, Gresik, through the Komunikasi Bersama Nelayan Lumpur (Nasi Layur / Joint Communication with Lumpur Fishermen) event held at Bale Cilik, Wednesday (7/10/2026).

The assistance was provided to fishermen groups spread across five Bales in Lumpur Village, namely Bale Pasusukan, Bale Purbo, Bale Wonorejo, Bale Cilik, and Bale Gede. The aid will be utilized for the revitalization of several supporting facilities for fishermen activities, such as bales, docks, and other infrastructure used by coastal communities to support their daily operations.

Vice President (VP) of Corporate Communication of Petrokimia Gresik, Ari Primantara, stated that this support forms part of Petrokimia Gresik's commitment to grow together with the community while providing added value that can be directly felt by fishermen groups surrounding the company.

“The existence of Petrokimia Gresik cannot be separated from the communities surrounding the company. Therefore, we want to continuously be present through contributions that truly deliver benefits, one of which is by supporting the improvement of facilities used by fishermen in their daily activities,” said Ari.

He expressed hope that the revitalization of these facilities could provide comfort while supporting the activities of fishermen groups in a sustainable manner.

In addition to aid distribution, Nasi Layur also served as a direct communication platform between Petrokimia Gresik and fishermen groups. Through this forum, community members can convey aspirations and inputs, while the company can share relevant information regarding community activities in the coastal area.

“Through Nasi Layur, we want to build increasingly close and open communication. Not only to convey information from the company, but also to listen directly to inputs and conditions encountered by the community on the ground,” Ari explained.

During the event, Petrokimia Gresik also involved its Occupational Health and Safety (K3) function to provide education on emergency preparedness and safety procedures should the community encounter emergency conditions around the company's operational area.

The materials presented covered an understanding of initial steps to take, the importance of prioritizing personal safety, and communication channels that the community can use to report information to the company so that prompt action can be taken according to applicable procedures.

According to Ari, this education is part of efforts to build a shared concern for safety and the environment, particularly for fishermen groups who conduct daily activities in the coastal area surrounding the company.

“Safety needs to be a shared concern. Therefore, the community also needs to receive accurate information regarding steps to take when facing certain conditions. With good communication, the company and the community can jointly maintain a safe and conducive environment,” he said.

Through Nasi Layur, Petrokimia Gresik hopes collaboration with coastal communities can continue to develop, not only through communication and education, but also through programs that deliver sustainable benefits.

“We want the well-established relationship to keep growing. Petrokimia Gresik will continue to open communication channels, listen to community needs, and deliver contributions that create added value for the surrounding environment,” Ari concluded.
