SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF GRESIK'S GENERATION, 17 HIGH-ACHIEVING STUDENTS RECEIVE BESTRO S1/D4

PT Petrokimia Gresik (Persero), an Agroindustrial Solutions company and member of the PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) holding, once again strengthened educational access for the people of Gresik Regency through the Petrokimia Gresik Scholarship (BESTRO) program for Bachelor's (S1) and Applied Bachelor's (D4) levels. This year, 17 high-achieving students were selected as BESTRO recipients after undergoing an increasingly comprehensive selection process. The signing of the BESTRO S1/D4 agreement for the 2026 intake took place at the Petrokimia Gresik Training Center Building, Friday (25/9/2026), attended by the scholarship recipients along with their parents.

The President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Daconi Khotob, stated that education is an essential foundation in building Human Resources (HR) quality while preparing superior future generations. Through BESTRO, Petrokimia Gresik provides not only educational financial support, but also encourages the development of a young generation that is competent, character-driven, and possesses resilience.

“BESTRO is part of Petrokimia Gresik's commitment to expanding opportunities for Gresik's young generation to pursue higher education. This educational opportunity is expected to produce a generation that is not only academically superior, but also possesses integrity, resilience, adaptability, and care to contribute to society,” said Daconi.

Through the BESTRO program, Petrokimia Gresik provides support in the form of Single Tuition Fees (UKT), monthly living allowances, and soft skill development programs for scholarship recipients. For the 2026 intake, the total BESTRO assistance commitment until recipients complete their education in 2030 reaches Rp1,774,350,000.

Daconi added that the challenges faced by the younger generation are becoming increasingly complex, requiring education to be accompanied by character building and competency enhancement. Therefore, the selection process for BESTRO 2026 was conducted more comprehensively through refined administrative requirements and weighting systems, alongside the involvement of credible and independent institutions in executing psychological assessments.

“This scholarship is hoped to truly serve as a bridge for Gresik's young generation to achieve a better future. Its benefits are expected not to stop with the scholarship recipients, but eventually to be felt by their families, communities, and even the nation,” Daconi explained.

Up to 2026, the total number of BESTRO S1/D4 recipients has reached 214 students spread across various state universities. Out of that total, 152 recipients have completed their education, earned their bachelor's degrees, and begun building careers or serving in society.

According to Daconi, the sustainability of BESTRO forms part of Petrokimia Gresik's long-term investment in raising the HR quality of communities surrounding the company.

“BESTRO recipients are expected to make the most of this opportunity to continuously raise their achievements, maintain integrity, and develop their abilities so that they will later be capable of making broader contributions to society,” he said.

One of the 2026 BESTRO S1 recipients, Syela Priscilla Krisdiansih, expressed appreciation for the trust bestowed by Petrokimia Gresik through the BESTRO program. She admitted to being enthusiastic because the program not only provides tuition support, but also equips recipients with soft skill development programs throughout their studies.

“This scholarship serves as motivation for us as BESTRO recipients to keep growing and prove ourselves through various achievements, both academic and non-academic. We hope Petrokimia Gresik continues to advance and grow so that even more of the younger generation will receive opportunities and benefits from the BESTRO program in the years to come,” said Syela.
