PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) recently held a Ramadan Safari at Petrokimia Gresik in Gresik, East Java. During this event, Pupuk Indonesia and Petrokimia Gresik distributed aid to thousands of residents. Through various aid programs distributed during the fasting month, the total aid provided by Petrokimia Gresik, as an Agro-Industry Solutions company, reached IDR 1.52 billion.
Pupuk Indonesia's President Director, Rahmad Pribadi, expressed his gratitude for the prayers and support of the Gresik community, enabling Pupuk Indonesia and Petrokimia Gresik to successfully fulfill their mandate of distributing subsidized fertilizer throughout Indonesia. This task is a crucial part of the effort to achieve national food self-sufficiency.
"This is Pupuk Indonesia's third Ramadan Safari. Through this Ramadan Safari, we can build relationships, foster unity, and share blessings. There are so many blessings bestowed upon the community. Please take good care of Petrokimia Gresik. Despite the current global turmoil, Indonesia can maintain its food security. This is because we have a large fertilizer industry," said Rahmad.
The blessings distributed during this Ramadan Safari included donations totaling Rp218.3 million for 1,455 teachers at Quranic Education Parks (TPQ) in Gresik; Rp109.5 million for 73 mosque and prayer room imams; and Rp23.8 million for 80 orphans and 15 students from the Petrokimia Gresik Employees' Wives Association (PIKA-PG).
Furthermore, Petrokimia Gresik and Pupuk Indonesia also distributed 500 basic food packages to pedicab drivers and the surrounding community. Each package contained 1 liter of cooking oil, 3 kilograms of rice, and 1 kilogram of sugar. The company also distributed 270 Qurans to 27 prayer rooms near the company. This assistance was a collaboration with the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the Petrokimia Gresik National Zakat Agency (Baznas) and the Petrokimia Gresik Employees' Union (SKPG).
Echoing this sentiment, Petrokimia Gresik's President Director, Daconi Khotob, stated that this assistance is a form of the company's gratitude and thanks to the Gresik community. Petrokimia Gresik, as part of Pupuk Indonesia, recognizes that the company's existence is inseparable from the surrounding community.
"Therefore, we are committed to continuing to provide tangible benefits while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the surrounding environment as part of the company's sustainability," he said.
Daconi added that this Ramadan Safari assistance complements Petrokimia Gresik's previous care programs during Ramadan. Previously, Petrokimia Gresik distributed aid to 16 mosques and 77 prayer rooms (musallas) near the company, as well as 23 Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and 27 orphanages in Gresik Regency. The total aid provided by Petrokimia Gresik during this fasting month reached IDR 1.52 billion.
"We also held Ramadan Safari gatherings with breaking the fast together and performing Tarawih prayers at mosques near the company. We are present among the community and provide operational assistance to make these mosques even more vibrant during Ramadan," Daconi concluded.
Finally, he hoped the public would continue to offer prayers and support to the company so that Petrokimia Gresik can continue fulfilling its mandate to advance Indonesian agriculture.
"We hope that every small step we take today can become a seed of goodness that will grow and benefit the environment and future generations. Every act of concern we plant today will grow into goodness that strengthens togetherness and brings hope," he concluded.
