Petrokimia Gresik Won 12 Awards at 2019 PRIA Event

PETROKIMIA GRESIK WON PLATINUM AND 11 OTHER AWARDS

PT Petrokimia Gresik (PG), a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), won 12 awards for the category of BUMN Subsidiaries during the 2019 Public Relations Indonesia Award (PRIA) event in Bandung, Thursday night (28/03). One of the awards was Platinum category or the highest award given by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, to PG President Director, Rahmad Pribadi.

Those twelve awards were 1 Platinum, 4 Gold, 4 Silver, 1 Bronze, Best Presenter, and Most Popular in Media. This number increases compared to previous year (2018), where during the same event, PG won 8 awards.

PG President Director, Rahmad Pribadi, stated that communication aspect is one of the most important aspects in running a business. By this reason, serious efforst are undoubtly required for its management. Especially in recent digital information era, where threats for images and reputation can go to anyone, anytime, and anywhere.

"Management in communication aspect must be able to play more strategic roles. Since currently, Petrokimia Gresik is carrying out its business transformation to be a fertilizer producer for agro-industry solution. So, this content must be conveyed properly to public", Rahmad said.

This strategic role, Rahmad continued, can be done by creating various programmes or campaigns (corporate and marketing campaigns) that are creative and informative. Besides, it must also be able to bring themes relevant to company business, as well as having broad impacts on society, both socially, economically, culturally, and so on.

"This is what Petrokimia Gresik is doing and thank God, at this night, several numbers of corporate communication programmes achieve appreciations from external parties", Rahmad added.

PRIA is a prestigious national level event that is regularly held by Indonesia PR Magazines since 2016. This competition aims to measure and appreciate the communication works achievement of various agencies, both corporations, organizations, and institutions from all over Indonesia.

CEO and Founder of Indonesia PR Magazine, Asmono Wikan, stated that the communication experts of various agencies in Indonesia has now began to be able to show themselves as strategic units.

"This is exciting. Since from the beginning, this competition was intended for the communication aspect managers can play the functions and strategic roles in management perspectives", Asmono said.

Meanwhile, PG Public Relations Manager, Muhammad Ihwan, added that, based on the report from Indonesia PR Magazines, there are 476 entries or programmes have joined the 209 PRIA event. The jury boards are also experts in various communication fields, including Maria Wongsonegoro (President Director of IPM Public Relations), Magdalena Wenas (President of Indonesa PR Society), Arbain Rambey (Kompas senior photographer), Ariani Djalal (Experts from Presidential Staff Office), and so on.

"We learned a lot from this competition. In the future, Petrokimia Gresik communication programmes will increase the use of information technology, such as big data and artificial intelligence, as well as face the 5.0 industry", Ihwan concluded.
