Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding company, continues to distribute aid in stages to communities affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The aid, worth Rp 454 million, was distributed through collaboration with the Pupuk Indonesia Group and through direct support from the company.
Petrokimia Gresik's President Director, Daconi Khotob, stated that the natural disaster in Sumatra has occurred since November 27th, but the affected communities have not yet fully recovered and require assistance from many parties. Petrokimia Gresik, as part of the Indonesian nation, shares this concern and is sending aid as a form of support to accelerate recovery for communities in the affected areas.
"We share your concerns. Based on data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the number of fatalities, missing persons, and displaced persons continues to rise. As of December 8, 2025, the total number of displaced persons has reached more than 850,000 people spread across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Among these displaced persons are also our brothers and sisters from Pupuk Iskandar Muda in Aceh," said Daconi in Gresik, East Java, on Tuesday (December 9, 2025).
The first aid package sent by Petrokimia Gresik, in collaboration with Pupuk Indonesia, included basic necessities, hygiene kits, school supplies, and daily necessities worth Rp 100 million. The next package consisted of ready-to-eat meals and rice worth Rp 100 million, departing from Jakarta on December 4, 2025.
In addition, Petrokimia Gresik will also distribute direct aid worth Rp 50 million, consisting of rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, mineral water, eggs, sugar, and tea, to approximately 500 beneficiaries.
Support also came from the Petrokimia Gresik Group, coordinated by the Petrokimia Gresik Employees Union (SKPG), which provided Rp 204 million in aid to Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) employees affected by the floods in Aceh. The aid was handed over directly at the PIM representative office in Jakarta on Monday (December 8, 2025).
"Through this aid, we want to provide support to the disaster-affected community so they don't feel alone in facing this calamity. Petrokimia Gresik wants to be present among them, so the recovery process can be faster. None of us want a disaster to happen," Daconi concluded.
Finally, Daconi hoped that the affected community would remain resilient in facing this difficult situation, despite the loss of many possessions and family members. "We hope the victims remain strong. This aid is a tangible manifestation of the concern and presence of Petrokimia Gresik employees for the people of Sumatra in facing the disaster," Daconi concluded.
