Petrokimia Gresik innovations, an Agro-Industry Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding company, have successfully taken home three awards at the 2025 BUMN and Brand Marketing Award (BBMA). These innovations, which utilize a wide range of technologies, are considered not only to have a positive impact on the company but also to bring sustainable benefits to Indonesian agriculture.

The three awards were Gold for Global Branding and Marketing Strategy, Gold for Brand Strategy Relevance, and Platinum for Impact on Indonesia. The awards were received by Petrokimia Gresik's Director of Risk Management, Johanes Barus, in Jakarta recently.

Separately, Johanes expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given by stakeholders for the company's innovations. He stated that this achievement was achieved because Petrokimia Gresik's innovations are able to provide solutions to challenges or problems faced by consumers, in this case farmers.

"Petrokimia Gresik's innovations for Indonesian agriculture always prioritize educational activities for farmers. This is also part of the company's efforts to achieve national food self-sufficiency and improve farmer welfare. We invite farmers to experience firsthand and prove the quality of the products offered, thereby fostering loyalty to Petrokimia Gresik's products," said Johanes in Gresik on Wednesday (December 10, 2025).

Several Petrokimia Gresik innovations that captured the attention of the jury at the 2025 BBMA event included Smart Precision Farming, created by Petrokimia Gresik for a more modern future for Indonesian agriculture. Through this program, Petrokimia Gresik encourages domestic farmers to optimize technology in their cultivation processes, such as using drones for fertilization and utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) to obtain geospatial data and precise fertilizer recommendations tailored to crop needs.

The application of this technology not only makes the cultivation process more effective and efficient but also impacts productivity and farmer welfare. By November 2025, Smart Precision Farming had been implemented on 2,524 hectares of land in East Java, Central Java, and West Java, covering various commodities such as sugar cane, rice, corn, edamame, cassava, and other agricultural commodities.

The next innovation that optimizes technology is the Agro Tech Center. This program successfully utilized 7,656 square meters of idle land as an education center and demonstration site for the application of modern agricultural technologies, including indoor farming systems, hydroponics, crop and agro-climate monitoring technology, automatic watering and fertilization systems, and other agricultural machinery (alsintan) technology.

Furthermore, Petrokimia Gresik also has special programs for farmer education, including the "Feast of the Farmers" (Pestani), the Giant Potato Competition, and the Fertilizer Truck, a mobile sales service that makes it easier for farmers to obtain fertilizer directly in the field.

"Of course, we have many innovations that utilize technology and directly involve farmers so they can experience the benefits. We dedicate this award to Indonesian farmers and agriculture," concluded Johanes.

Meanwhile, BUMN Track, along with BTA Academy and supported by the DMID WIR Group, will again hold the 13th BUMN Branding and Marketing Award (BBMA) in 2025 as a token of appreciation for SOEs' concrete efforts in optimizing their branding and marketing potential. This event encourages SOEs to continuously improve their reputation and positioning at the national and global levels.
