Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) holding company, together with the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, distributed 600 basic food packages to the community in commemoration of Food Security Assurance Day (HAJATAN) at the Petrokimia Gresik Tri Dharma Sports Hall in East Java on Wednesday (July 15, 2026). The aid consisted of 5 kilograms of rice, 1 liter of cooking oil, and 1 kilogram of granulated sugar, demonstrating their shared commitment to helping the community and supporting food security.
The 600 aid packages were distributed to 400 residents near the company, including fishermen and 200 online motorcycle taxi drivers. This aid distribution also served as part of Petrokimia Gresik's 54th anniversary celebrations, under the theme "Growing the Future," and emphasized the company's commitment to continuously providing tangible benefits to the community.
Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan (Menko Zulhas), expressed his appreciation for the HAJATAN event, which was held through a collaboration between the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs and Petrokimia Gresik. He stated that the existence of companies and the government must be able to provide tangible benefits to the surrounding community.
"This HAJATAN event, organized by Petrokimia Gresik, truly cares about the surrounding community. There are online motorcycle taxi drivers and the community around the company. Mr. Daconi (President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Ed.) and his colleagues will always be attentive to the community," he said.
Petrokimia Gresik's President Director, Daconi Khotob, stated that through the HAJATAN program, the company wants to ensure that every important moment is not merely a ceremony, but also provides benefits that can be directly felt by the community.
"Petrokimia Gresik is not only committed to maintaining fertilizer availability as part of national food security, but also provides social benefits to the community. Through this HAJATAN program, we want to share happiness while strengthening our concern for local residents, fishermen, and online motorcycle taxi drivers who are part of the economy," said Daconi.
According to Daconi, collaboration between the government, state-owned enterprises, and the community is a crucial foundation for building sustainable food security.
"Going forward, Petrokimia Gresik will continue to present programs that provide tangible benefits to the community while strengthening collaboration in supporting national food security," Daconi concluded.
One beneficiary, Asnah, a resident of Sukorame, Gresik Regency, expressed her gratitude to Coordinating Minister Zulhas and Petrokimia Gresik. She said the assistance was very beneficial, especially during the new school year when family needs increase.
"With this assistance, our family's expenses have been greatly reduced. I hope Petrokimia Gresik and the Coordinating Ministry for Food will continue to progress, so that the benefits provided to the community will be even greater," she said.
Muhammad Ilham Soleh, an online motorcycle taxi driver from Bungah, Gresik Regency, expressed a similar sentiment. He said the assistance helped reduce household expenses, allowing the income earned to be used for other family needs.
"Usually, our income is spent on daily necessities. Now that we have basic necessities, we can take home more of our earnings. I hope programs like this will be implemented more often," he said.
