Petrokimia Gresik, in collaboration with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and initiated by Pupuk Indonesia, has successfully brought prosperity to 21,403 farmers across Indonesia through increased crop productivity as of the end of the second quarter of 2023.

Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, stated on National Farmers' Day, Sunday (September 24), that from January to August 2023, Petrokimia Gresik has implemented this initiative by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in an area of 102,589 hectares (Ha), surpassing the annual target of 99,000 Ha, achieving 104 percent.

"Alhamdulillah, the Makmur program, which is an agricultural ecosystem from upstream to downstream, including capital assistance, cultivation guidance, agricultural insurance, and marketing guarantees, has been successful in increasing the harvest yields of various agricultural commodities, ultimately promoting prosperity for the farmers in our country," said Dwi Satriyo.

The Makmur Program by Petrokimia Gresik has been realized in several provinces, including West Java on 8,534 Ha of land, Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region on 14,043 Ha, followed by East Java Province (63,917 Ha), Bali and Nusa Tenggara (9,138 Ha), Sumatra (2,738 Ha), and Kalimantan (4,219 Ha).

The most targeted commodities by Petrokimia Gresik in this program are paddy fields covering 44,495 Ha, followed by sugarcane (35,481 Ha), horticulture (10,093 Ha), corn (8,301 Ha), and oil palm (4,219 Ha).

"We hope that this cultivation model can be replicated by other farmers, contributing to maintaining national food security," emphasized Dwi Satriyo.

In this program, Petrokimia Gresik plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of non-subsidized fertilizers. The company also monitors cultivation, starting from soil testing through the Soil Testing Mobile Unit service, to providing pesticides through its subsidiaries for pest and disease control.

The non-subsidized fertilizers used in the Makmur program by Petrokimia Gresik include NPK Phonska Plus, ZA, Urea, ZK, and SP-36. Additionally, the company's new products such as ZA Plus, SP-26, Phosgreen, and Petroganik Premium are also included. Through the Makmur program, the company aims to educate farmers not to rely solely on subsidized fertilizers, which are currently becoming more limited.

"The use of non-subsidized products from Petrokimia Gresik has proven to significantly increase productivity and the well-being of farmers in Indonesia. We hope that more farmers will join the Makmur program, inspiring even more farmers," he concluded.
