PT Petrokimia Gresik (Persero), an Agroindustrial Solutions company and a member of the holding company PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), once again shared joy with 529 pedicab drivers through the "Sharing Blessings with Pedicab Drivers 2026" event at the Tri Dharma Sports Hall in Gresik, East Java, on Wednesday (July 29, 2026). This event was part of a series of events commemorating Petrokimia Gresik's 54th anniversary.
Petrokimia Gresik's Director of Risk Management, Muhammad Ihwan, stated that the company's anniversary celebrations were not only a moment to celebrate its various achievements, but also an opportunity to share benefits with the community that has grown and developed alongside the company.
"Petrokimia Gresik believes that a company's success must go hand in hand with its concern for the community. Therefore, we are making this 54th anniversary a moment to share joy and strengthen our bond with the pedicab drivers in Gresik," said Ihwan.
The event was attended by hundreds of pedicab drivers and electric pedicab drivers from various regions in Gresik Regency. Each participant received Rp 200,000 in assistance, a towel, and refreshments. This assistance is expected to benefit and bring joy to the pedicab drivers and their families.
Furthermore, he expressed his hope that the pedicab drivers would pray for Petrokimia Gresik's continued growth and ability to optimally fulfill the government's mandate to distribute subsidized fertilizer. This way, the "sharing with pedicab drivers" program can continue and provide broader benefits.
"For Petrokimia Gresik, the pedicab drivers are an integral part of the company. Every pedaling pedicab driver is part of the lifeblood of Gresik Regency. This assistance is a manifestation of our gratitude and an expression of our thanks," he said.
The "Sharing Blessings with Pedicab Drivers" activity has become a tradition during Petrokimia Gresik's anniversary celebrations. The program also represents the company's commitment to social and environmental responsibility and maintaining harmonious relationships with the community.
"Petrokimia Gresik will continue to be present, growing alongside the community, and providing directly tangible benefits. A close relationship with the community is an important foundation for the company's sustainability," concluded Ihwan.
This activity received an enthusiastic response from pedicab drivers. They believe the program is able to help alleviate the daily needs of their families. Sumber, one of the beneficiary drivers, expressed his gratitude for Petrokimia Gresik's concern.
"Thank God, there's assistance from Petrokimia Gresik. I hope Petrokimia Gresik continues to thrive, so we can continue to provide this assistance," said Sumber, who said he has been in this business since 1974.
Similarly, Tono, who said he has been driving a pedicab in Gresik for the past five years, also expressed his gratitude to Petrokimia Gresik. The assistance provided is equivalent to his usual weekly income, if not more.
"On a quiet day, I only earn Rp 15,000 a day. This assistance is definitely very beneficial for us pedicab drivers. Thank you for caring about us," he said briefly.
