Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding company, is collaborating with 78 Petroganik production partners to support the smooth distribution of subsidized organic fertilizer in 2026. The Petroganik Fertilizer Production Agreement was signed by Petrokimia Gresik's Director of Finance and General Affairs, Adityo Wibowo, and Petroganik Partners, some time ago in Gresik, East Java.
Adityo Wibowo, as he is familiarly known, stated that in 2026 the government will allocate subsidized organic fertilizer for the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Petrokimia Gresik will largely be responsible for meeting the subsidized organic fertilizer needs of these two sectors.
"To meet this target, in 2026, Petrokimia Gresik is collaborating with 78 Petroganik organic fertilizer production partners across East Java, Central Java, and outside Java. We are committed to ensuring that the distribution of subsidized organic fertilizer is carried out in accordance with the government's mandate," said Adit.
He added that in 2026, the government allocated approximately 9.8 million tons of subsidized fertilizer nationally for the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Of this, 642,107 tons were allocated for subsidized organic fertilizer.
Petrokimia Gresik allocated 627,497 tons of subsidized organic fertilizer, with 548,201 tons for the agriculture sector and 79,296 tons for the fisheries sector.
"The need for subsidized organic fertilizer is expected to increase, as farmers' awareness of sustainable agriculture through soil fertility restoration increases. This way, Indonesia's rice self-sufficiency achieved in 2025 can be maintained and improved in the following years," Adit concluded.
He explained that sustainable agriculture requires a balanced use of chemical and organic fertilizers. Organic fertilizers play a crucial role in improving the soil's ability to supply nutrients from inorganic fertilizers, thus optimizing plant nutrient absorption and increasing crop productivity. Furthermore, the use of organic fertilizers also helps improve soil structure and fertility, in line with Petrokimia Gresik's commitment to building an environmentally friendly agricultural ecosystem.
Therefore, Adit continued, Petrokimia Gresik, along with its 78 production partners, is always committed to maintaining the quality of Petroganik organic fertilizer, which is subsidized by the government. He ensures that the products produced by partners meet the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).
"We also intensively provide guidance and training to our partners, from raw material management to the final product. The SNI amendment in 2024 is a strategic step to protect farmers from products that do not meet soil fertility needs," Adit said.
Finally, he explained that production collaborations with partners spread across several regions have an impact not only on farmers but also on the environment and socio-economic conditions of the surrounding communities. From an environmental perspective, the utilization of agricultural and livestock waste and organic waste into value-added products reduces pollution.
From a socio-economic perspective, this collaboration creates new jobs in production, sales, and logistics, thus encouraging local economic empowerment, increasing regional economic turnover, and strengthening small and medium enterprises.
"Petrokimia Gresik will also continue to strengthen governance, transparency, and internal controls to ensure that the partnership scheme operates in accordance with good corporate governance principles and applicable regulations," he concluded.
