Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions holding company of Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), once again held the 2026 Petrokimia Gresik Innovation Convention (KIPG). This year marks a special occasion, marking KIPG's 40th anniversary as a platform for developing a culture of innovation that has produced numerous breakthroughs to strengthen the company's competitiveness and sustainability.
Over its four decades, KIPG has been a driving force behind innovations that have contributed to increased efficiency, productivity, operational reliability, and strengthened Petrokimia Gresik's role in supporting national food security. At KIPG 2026, various innovations developed by company personnel generated direct financial benefits of IDR 68 billion and value creation of IDR 154 billion.
Petrokimia Gresik's President Director, Daconi Khotob, stated that the 40-year existence of KIPG demonstrates the company's commitment to building a strong and sustainable culture of innovation.
"The culture of innovation at Petrokimia Gresik continues to grow and develop positively. The strong employee involvement in innovation reflects the spirit of creative thinking, improvement, and contribution that has become part of the Petrokimia Gresik work culture," said Daconi at the opening of KIPG 2026 in Gresik on Thursday (June 11).
This strong culture of innovation is reflected in the increasing employee participation year after year. In 2024, employee involvement in innovation reached 95 percent, then in 2025, it increased to 97 percent, and in KIPG 2026, it reached 98 percent. This involvement also includes Band I and Band II officials, demonstrating strong support for innovation from all levels of the organization.
According to Daconi, this achievement proves that innovation not only generates new ideas but also brings measurable added value to the company.
"Petrokimia Gresik employees recognize the importance of innovation for the company, particularly in fulfilling its mandate to distribute subsidized fertilizers to achieve national food self-sufficiency. This contribution proves that every idea can develop into a solution that significantly impacts the company's performance and competitiveness," he said.
A total of 1,799 innovation clusters participated in KIPG 2026. With the theme "Driving Efficiency, Creating Value," KIPG 2026 provided a platform for company employees to present innovations that not only create innovation but also generate sustainable added value.
On the occasion, Daconi also expressed appreciation to the best innovators who have produced various breakthroughs and solutions to support the company's operations.
"KIPG's forty-year journey has proven that a company's progress never occurs by chance. Progress always begins with the courage to change, the willingness to improve, and a commitment to continuously create value," he emphasized.
Daconi added that innovation must go hand in hand with operational excellence. With a stronger foundation of innovation and increased employee engagement, the company is expected to continue delivering breakthroughs that provide long-term benefits and strengthen its position in facing future business challenges and opportunities.
