Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions company and member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, has reopened the 2026 Young Farmer Scholarship program for 50 eleventh-grade agricultural vocational school (SMK Pertanian) students in the East Java region. The scholarship, which has been running since 2024, is the company's commitment to strengthening farmer regeneration while breeding young agripreneurs in the country.
The President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Daconi Khotob in Gresik, Wednesday (6/5/2026), stated that farmer regeneration is the primary key to maintaining the sustainability of the agricultural sector and national food security. The interest of the younger generation in the agricultural world must continue to be driven through various relevant and highly impactful programs, such as the Young Farmer Scholarship program.
"Farmer regeneration is an important foundation for the future of Indonesia's food. Through the Young Farmer Scholarship program, we want to attract more of the younger generation to enter the agricultural sector while equipping them with competence and an entrepreneurial spirit. Petrokimia Gresik is committed to continuing to breed young agripreneurs who are capable of becoming the driving force of modern agriculture," said Daconi.
Registration for the 2026 Young Farmer Scholarship is open from May 4 to 17, 2026. Applicants will undergo administrative selection and an online written exam. Participants are also required to write an essay themed “Farming for the Nation's Future: The Bold Choice of Generation Z to Become True Agripreneurs”.
As for other mandatory requirements, participants must have a report card score with a minimum average of 80.00 in each semester from the 1st semester of the 10th grade to the 1st semester of the 11th grade, and must not have any score below the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP).
This scholarship is awarded to the 50 best eleventh-grade male and female vocational school students majoring in agricultural studies in East Java. The scholarship recipients will receive educational operational assistance of Rp500,000 per month for 12 months.
Through this program, Petrokimia Gresik does not only provide financial support, but also encourages the birth of competent, innovative, and entrepreneurial agricultural human resources. "Alhamdulillah, we can contribute to preparing a resilient younger generation to face the future challenges of the agricultural sector," Daconi concluded.
