Petrokimia Gresik, an Agroindustrial Solutions company and a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding company, opened Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month 2026 with the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, at the Petrokimia Gresik Stadium, Gresik Regency, on Wednesday (January 14, 2026). At the event, Petrokimia Gresik received three awards from Governor Khofifah for its strong implementation of K3 within the company.

Petrokimia Gresik received three awards: for its implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3), for its efforts in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control (P2HIV/AIDS) in the Workplace, and for its Tuberculosis Prevention and Control (P2TB) in the Workplace.

In addition, two subsidiaries of Petrokimia Gresik also received awards: PT Petrokimia Kayaku received the Zero Accident Award, and PT Petrosida Gresik also received the P2TB Award.

Petrokimia Gresik's President Director, Daconi Khotob, expressed his gratitude for the award received directly from Governor Khofifah for Petrokimia Gresik and its subsidiaries' commitment to implementing OHS aspects within the company. He stated that implementing OHS for Petrokimia Gresik is no longer merely an obligation, but a necessity to support the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizer throughout Indonesia and to achieve national food security.

"This award confirms Petrokimia Gresik's commitment to continue operating safely, responsibly, and sustainably, in line with the company's vision," Daconi stated.

He added that Petrokimia Gresik is a national vital asset (obvitnas) whose operations must not be disrupted. Petrokimia Gresik has a significant responsibility to produce millions of tons of subsidized fertilizer throughout Indonesia each year. Therefore, implementing OHS with discipline and innovation is a necessity.

He explained that Petrokimia Gresik, located adjacent to residential areas, must continue to maintain the company's operational continuity by collaborating with the community and a crucial element of the employees' families. This will ensure Indonesia's food security.

"In addition to the community, Petrokimia Gresik also involves families. The hope is that employees will become accustomed to implementing OHS principles from their smallest environment, namely their families," Daconi concluded.

Governor Khofifah explained that the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) has a strategic role in ensuring the OHS system runs effectively, sustainably, and is embedded throughout East Java. This role is realized not only through regulation and supervision, but also through coaching, mentoring, and providing appreciation to parties with a strong commitment to OHS implementation, including Petrokimia Gresik, which received the OHS Management System (SMK3) award.

"One concrete example of the East Java Provincial Government's role can be seen in the number of companies receiving OHS awards in East Java in 2026, namely 717 recipients," said Governor Khofifah.

She hopes this award will motivate and inspire all businesses in East Java to continue increasing their commitment to OHS implementation, thus creating a safe, healthy, productive, and competitive workplace.

"K3 is not just a regulatory obligation. K3 is a value. The value that every worker has the right to go home safely. The value that productivity and safety must go hand in hand. The value that this is our collective responsibility. Let's make this National K3 Month a momentum to strengthen our commitment, improve systems, and build a safe and healthy work culture throughout Indonesia," concluded Governor Khofifah.

Finally, Daconi added, to commemorate National K3 Month 2026 within the company, Petrokimia Gresik held various activities, including a K3 Month roll call with Governor Khofifah, K3 Month certification and training, an K3 webinar series, a safety and health competition, a 5R competition, and a contractor K3 audit. The roll call series also included an K3 simulation from Petrokimia Gresik, the distribution of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan compensation and scholarships, and an K3 exhibition and education area showcasing occupational safety practices and industrial preparedness as an effort to collaboratively strengthen K3 culture.

"This series of activities during K3 Month aims to increase understanding that K3 implementation must be carried out collaboratively and sustainably. Occupational safety and health are not the responsibility of one department, but of all company employees. This way, Petrokimia Gresik's sustainability can be maintained," Daconi concluded.
