PT Petrokimia Gresik received Green Industry Certificate (SIH) from Indonesia Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin). The SIH was handed over by General Secretary (Sekjen) of Indonesia Ministry of Industry, Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono to Porduction Director of Petrokimia Gresik, I Ketut Rusnaya in Green Industry Award in Indonesia Ministry of Industry Office, Monday (16/12/2019).
The event was a program from Industry Ministry to support the industry in implementing principles and green industry standard which is environmentally friendly. Those principles are including product efficiency for the use of raw materials, component, energy, water utility and environmental management.
The General Secretary of Indonesia Ministry of Industry, Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono conveyed, along with the increasing concern of the market for environmental sustainability and sustainable development, the green industry become a market demand now.
The implementation of green industry concept is aimed to support any companies to keep increasing the production efficiency and effectiveness by cost and natural resource savings.
PT Petrokimia Gresik already got SIH since 2018 and expired until 2022. On 2019, Petrokimia Gresik did surveillance SIH, and successfully keeps the SIH.
PT Petrokimia Gresik received SIH, because in its production process it has carried out efficiency in raw materials and component, as well as effective use of resources in a sustainable manner, among others by making efficient use of energy and water, so as to be able to harmonize industrial development while preserving environmental functions, and can provide benefits to the community through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
Production Director of Petrokimia Gresik, I Ketut Rusnaya said that green industry certification which was achieved must be a support booster for Petrokimia Gresik employees to improve the performance better.
