The target of implementing the Makmur Petrokimia Gresik Program, an Agroindustrial Solutions company holding member of the Pupuk Indonesia, in 2024 is increased to 132 thousand hectares (Ha) for land throughout Indonesia with various commodities. This was conveyed by the Director of Operations and Production of Petrokimia Gresik, Digna Jatiningsih after representing the President Director, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the Makmur Program with Distributors, in Gresik, East Java, Friday (12/1/2024).

Digna said that the target is much greater than the initial target of the Makmur Program in 2023, amounting to 99,000 Ha. In addition, it also exceeds the realization or implementation in 2023, which is on an area of 130,497 Ha.

"The implementation of Makmur in 2023 has successfully exceeded the target. For this reason, Pupuk Indonesia has again increased the target of Petrokimia Gresik in 2024. We are optimistic that this year's realization will also exceed the mandate entrusted so that the benefits of the Makmur Program run by Petrokimia Gresik will be more widely felt by farmers," said Digna.

"The farmers in the Makmur Program have become self-sufficient because they are no longer dependent on subsidized fertilizers. The use of commercial fertilizers is proven to be able to increase the productivity of farmers as well as their income," said Digna.

With the completion of the implementation in 2023, the total realization of the Petrokimia Gresik Prosperity Program since the initiation of the Ministry of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2021 reached 249,535 Ha. With details in 2021, it covers an area of 20,440 Ha. Furthermore, achievements in 2022 continue to increase, where Petrokimia Gresik has succeeded in running the Makmur program on an area of 98,598 Ha.

Digna further explained, the Makmur Program is an agricultural ecosystem from upstream to downstream. Involving local governments, banking institutions, insurance, and off-takers. Petrokimia Gresik itself is tasked with providing control of agricultural cultivation, including the provision of agro-inputs in the form of non-subsidized fertilizers and pest control.

Petrokimia Gresik's efforts to exceed the implementation of the 2024 Makmur Program include collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including the signing of an MoU with Distributors. In addition, Petrokimia Gresik also made several innovations.

Among them is the Sekolah Makmur program which received direct appreciation from SOE Minister Erick Thohir at the departure of the first batch of 2022, then Santri Makmur which was inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

Sekolah Makmur and Santri Makmur were initiated to optimize the implementation of the Makmur Program. Through this program, Petrokimia Gresik strives to produce superior human resources in agriculture in collaboration with the Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan) and Islamic Boarding Schools.

"This program is one of the breakthroughs presented by Petrokimia Gresik in providing solutions to various problems experienced by farmers," concluded Digna.
