Petrokimia Gresik Wins "Supply Chain Innovator Of The Year" Award For Optimizing Warehousing And Port Services Through Digitalization

Petrokimia Gresik, a leading agro-industrial solutions company and member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, has been honored as the "Supply Chain Innovator of The Years (Company)" at the Bisnis Indonesia Logistic Award (BILA) 2023 for its performance in logistics management. The award from Bisnis Indonesia media was symbolically received by SVP of Warehousing and Port Management of Petrokimia Gresik, Andri Puji Handoyo, representing the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, in Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/28/2023).

In a separate statement, Dwi Satriyo expressed gratitude for the recognition. He revealed that stakeholders awarded Petrokimia Gresik for the company's innovations in stock management, which were deemed capable of reducing logistics costs and supporting the improvement of Indonesia's Logistic Performance Index (LPI).

"For Petrokimia Gresik, effective and efficient supply chain and logistics performance are imperative. The innovations in our supply chain we've undertaken are efforts by the company to safeguard consumers through competitive and assured product availability in the market," stated Dwi Satriyo.

He further explained that Petrokimia Gresik's smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizers to various regions is inseparable from the company's innovations in logistics and supply chain. Considering Petrokimia Gresik's strategic role in distributing subsidized fertilizers of more than 3.1 million tons of both Urea and NPK throughout Indonesia.

"The digitization in logistics management at the plant helps Petrokimia Gresik ensure the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizers to maintain national food security," emphasized Dwi Satriyo.

The innovations in logistics management that caught the attention of the BILA 2023 jury include first, the Warehouse Management System (WMS), which is a digital and integrated application for warehouse management at Petrokimia Gresik's Warehouse Line I. This application is used for real-time recording of product handling activities in the warehouse.

"All warehouse management processes are recorded and monitored with a good system. The positive impact of implementing this application includes contributing to savings, reducing product damage risks, thus ensuring the quality of fertilizers received by farmers," said Dwi Satriyo.

The second innovation is the Digital Transport Management System (DTMS), which is an Improvement Project to support internal material transfer between warehouses or locations
within the scope of Petrokimia Gresik's area. DTMS serves as a platform that facilitates users to order and provide material transfer services via trucks in real-time and reliably. DTMS also acts as a system for monitoring material transfer activities and monitoring the performance of drivers in their services.

The third is the Internal Supply Chain Excellence (ISCE) or a program in the logistics management chain process starting from unloading raw materials from ships at the port, delivery to warehouses and factories, to becoming ready-to-sell products. The implementation of the ISCE ecosystem makes the logistics management process more optimal, and the company can increase customer satisfaction through product supply optimization.

The final innovation that led to the achievement of this award is Customer Centric Excellence (2CE). The goal of this innovation is to optimize operational processes in warehousing through production and sales planning activities. 2CE itself is a website-based system that can be accessed from anywhere.

With these innovations, it will have an impact on several sectors including more monitored sales planning activities to production, the creation of product pickup orders can be done from anywhere, and improving loading services at Warehouse Line I.

"In principle, Petrokimia Gresik is ready to fulfill the duties and responsibilities entrusted by the Government, which is to produce fertilizers according to assignments and ensure their distribution. Meanwhile, the implementation of digitization will guarantee optimal results in our efforts to fulfill this mandate," concluded Dwi Satriyo.
