The Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) conducted a sudden inspection to the third line fertilizer warehouse PT Petrokimia Gresik (PG) and PT Pupuk Kujang. The fertilizer warehouse which was inspected located in the North Coast or known as “Pantura” area of Indramayu Regency on Saturday (05/09/20), to ensure the safety of subsidized fertilizer stock availability that farmers need amid the current pandemic.
"I want to see first hand the fertilizer stock in the North Coast warehouse. Because even during the Covid-19 pandemic, the availability of fertilizers must remain safe, "said SYL.
Petrokimia Gresik has 4 (four) buffer warehouses in Indramayu with a total capacity of more than 6,000 tons of fertilizer. Taufik Muhlisin, Regional Sales Staff of PG said that the Petrokimia Gresik fertilizer warehouse that was inspected by the Minister of Agriculture SYL was located on Raya Patrol Sumaradem Street, Sukra District, Indramayu Regency, with a capacity of 3,000 tons.
"We ensure that what is in Indramayu at least represents some of the areas here, related to our potential in distributing fertilizers well to all regions in Indonesia. I have traveled to several provinces. My impression is that our fertilizer readiness is quite good, ”said SYL.
SYL revealed that he had received an order from President Joko Widodo to continue to recheck the readiness and availability of fertilizers, the accuracy of fertilizer distribution, and the recipients of subsidized fertilizer. Fertilizer distribution must be strictly for farmers who have land with no more than 2 hectares, so do not get the wrong target recipients. Subsidized fertilizers must be distributed according to needs, and solving distribution problems requires a detailed check and recheck in the field.
The provision of subsidized fertilizer must also guarantee the increased of productivity to support national food security. SYL said that during the first planting season with 7.4 million hectares of fertilizer, it was safe, and the result was that productivity was also safe. "We hope that the second planting season or dry planting season of 5.8 million hectares can get good fertilization, so that productivity can also increase," he explained.
PG is Ready
As an Agroindustry Solution Company for sustainable agriculture, Petrokimia Gresik, which is a member of the holding company of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is ready to make the second planting season successful, October-March (Ocmar).
The President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo explained that Petrokimia Gresik's obligation is to provide and distribute subsidized fertilizers according to the provisions or assignments from the Government. in the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 10 of 2020 concerning Amendments to the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 01 of 2020 concerning Allocation and the Highest Retail Price of Subsidized Fertilizers in the Agricultural Sector for Fiscal Year 2020.
In the regulation, the Ministry of Agriculture set an allocation of national subsidized fertilizers of 7.9 million tons to Pupuk Indonesia. Of this amount, Petrokimia Gresik was assigned a distribution assignment of 4.7 million tons or 59% of the total national assignment. The rest will be distributed by other fertilizer producers who are members of the holding Pupuk Indonesia.
To ensure distribution to the regions, Petrokimia Gresik has 77 Regional Sales Staff spread across various regions in Indonesia.
"In its distribution, the company adheres to the 6 right principles, namely Right Price, Right Place, Right Amount, Right Quality, Right Type, and Right Time," he explained.
Therefore, Dwi Satriyo emphasized to all authorized distributors and kiosks to always comply with all applicable regulations. And not involved in misappropriation, hoarding, or selling above the Highest Retail Price.
"Petrokimia Gresik will not hesitate to stop the distribution cooperation if the official distributor or kiosk is proven to have committed fraud," said Dwi Satriyo.
Apart from the obligation to provide subsidized fertilizers, he continued, Petrokimia Gresik is also preparing a stock of non-subsidized fertilizers. This step is a solution for farmers whose fertilizer needs are not allocated in the subsidy scheme. (Hartono)
