Introducing Digital Farming through Petro AgriTalk

Innovation in the world of agriculture is increasingly diverse with Digital Farming. Aware with the critical role of digitalization as an important tool for agricultural industry, Petrokimia Gresik held "Petro AgriTalk: Digital Farming, Threats or Opportunities for the Agricultural Sector" at the Petrokimia Gresik Demosntration Garden (Buncob) on Thursday, 14 July 2022.

The President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, said that with digital agricultural technology, farmers could be directly connected with potential buyers so that the supply chain can become more efficient.

"In addition, agricultural productivity also has the potential to get the most benefits from the application of digital agricultural technology," he said.

Also attending as a speaker, MarkPlus Inc. Founder & Chairman Hermawan Kartajaya invited agricultural stakeholders in Indonesia to learn agricultural technology from Thailand, which is currently somewhat more advanced. With the ASEAN spirit, he hopes there will be technology transfer for the advancement of agriculture in the country.

Petro AgriTalk also invited other speakers, such as Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, and Dimas Eko Prasetyo S.T. as SEVP Operation PT Perkebunan Nusantara X. This activity was attended by 128 participants consisting of students from the Faculty of Agriculture, young farmers and other stakeholders, along with representatives from NAC Drone Thailand, who on this occasion also carried out a simulation of the Petrokimia Gresik drone in sowing fertilizer which also carried out in a series of Petro AgriTalk activities.

Finally, Dwi Satriyo Annurogohopes that the implementation of Petro AgriTalk can brighten the horizons of agricultural digitization in Indonesia.
