Top Choice: NPK Phonska Plus & Urea Petro Earn Farmers' Seal of Approval

In a recent accolade, Phonska Plus, the flagship fertilizer brand of Petrokimia Gresik, a member of Pupuk Indonesia's Agroindustry Solutions, has once again been designated as the top choice and recommendation among farmers according to the Indonesia WOW Brand 2024, earning the Gold Champion title for the Non-subsidized NPK category. Additionally, Urea Petro has been recognized as a preferred brand among farmers, clinching the Silver Champion title in the Non-subsidized Nitrogen Fertilizer category at the same event.

"For the second time, Phonska Plus has claimed the top spot. Since 2023, Phonska Plus has been the most preferred and recommended brand by farmers in the Non-subsidized NPK category. This award underscores Phonska Plus' quality and credibility, making it the fertilizer most recommended by farmers, surpassing similar products from other companies," stated Digna Jatiningsih, Petrokimia Gresik's Director of Operations and Production, following the award ceremony held in Jakarta.

She added that Phonska Plus received this honor after MarkPlus, Inc., the event's organizer, conducted surveys among respondents who are users of non-subsidized fertilizers across various regions in Indonesia. Many Indonesian farmers have already experienced the benefits of this innovative product from Petrokimia Gresik.

Phonska Plus, launched in 2017 with a formulation of 15-15-15 enriched with Zinc 2,000 ppm and Sulfur 9%, emphasizes efficient fertilization technology for optimal harvest yields.

"In essence, Phonska Plus embodies Petrokimia Gresik's commitment as an Agroindustry Solutions company. With Phonska Plus, Petrokimia Gresik offers solutions to Zinc deficiency in agricultural land, while also providing better quality non-subsidized NPK fertilizers that can enhance crop yields and farmers' prosperity," emphasized Digna.

Based on demonstration plots (demplots) conducted by Petrokimia Gresik in various regions of Indonesia, the application of Phonska Plus has increased rice productivity by 1.22 tons of Harvested Dry Grain (HDG) or approximately 16.76%. With an average rice productivity of 6.06 tons, the use of Phonska Plus has increased it to 7.28 tons.

Meanwhile, this achievement marks a first for Urea Petro. This nitrogen-based fertilizer with 46% nitrogen content also offers many advantages, such as making plants greener, accelerating and enhancing plant growth, increasing plant height, branch, and tiller numbers, as well as enhancing protein content in harvested produce.

"Phonska Plus and Urea Petro represent Petrokimia Gresik's support for national food security programs and the promotion of increased farmer prosperity through abundant harvests. We hope that more farmers will use Phonska Plus and Urea Petro, allowing more farmers to benefit from these two products," Digna remarked.

WOW Brand 2024 is the result of a survey conducted on 300 brands from 100 product categories in November – December 2023, with over 3,000 respondents across Indonesia. The survey method used by MarcPlus, Inc. was derived from one of the elements of the 5A customer journey concept in the book Marketing 4.0, namely Advocate. This book explains that the customer journey now consists of five stages referred to as the 5A's: Aware, Appeal, Ask, Act, and Advocate.

"The highest achievement for a brand is being chosen and advocated by consumers. This undoubtedly serves as our main motivation to continue delivering quality products that meet consumer needs," concluded Digna.
