International Women's Day is celebrated every March 8 to appreciate the achievements of each woman. This celebration is also held to remember how important the role of women in community life. This then becomes a momentum as well as a reminder that women can contribute in various aspects. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir emphasized that women have a big role in the transformation process, including in the scope of SOEs. According to him, gender equality can improve the professionalism and performance of a company.
As one of the efforts to encourage the role of women in the development process, the Minister of SOEs formed Srikandi BUMN as a place to show their existence as career women. This is applied by Petrokimia Gresik in creating a balanced and harmonious working environment. During its 50 years of existence, women's involvement in supporting the company's operations has increased every year. That is what ultimately contributes positively to the success of the company which is recognized by various circles through awards.
Among them, Digna Jatiningsih, Director of Operations and Production of Petrokimia Gresik won the Strategic Marketing CMO Of The Year 2020 Award given by Markplus.Inc. In addition, Digna was invited to be a speaker at the International event "Indonesia Pavilion on COP-27 UNFCCC" in Egypt. On that occasion, Digna was present as a representation of the face of the Indonesia Pavilion to give a demonstration to the international community about Indonesia's commitment to the fight against climate change. Digna was also the speaker at the Srikandi BUMN Talk Show held in February 2022. On this occasion, she advised that inclusivity is important in a company, including in Petrokimia Gresik. This is one of Petrokimia Gresik's efforts to increase the role of women in contributing to the development process and as a way for women to have opportunities in the same career. In addition, Digna also said that the role of women as leaders in the company is important so that the decisions and policies taken are comprehensive.
As the Dewi BUMN 2022, Digna also carried out several social activities such as planting Mangrove Trees which coincided with World Environment Day which fell in June. This activity is a form of women's concern for environmental sustainability and an effort to save the next generation.
