BUMN Award 2023 Innovative And Concerns for Msmes, Petrokimia Gresik Wins The "Ceo Innovative Leader & Company Cares For Msme Development" Award

Considered innovative and caring for MSMEs, Petrokimia Gresik, which is an Agroindustrial Solutions company and the holding member of the Pupuk Indonesia, won the "CEO Innovative Leader and MSME Development Care Company" award at the 12th Year 2023 BUMN Award in Jakarta, recently. CEO Innovative Leader was awarded to the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo whose award was handed over directly by the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2014-2019 period, Arief Yahya.

Dwi Satriyo after receiving the award expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given by stakeholders. The "CEO Innovative Leader" award is proof that Petrokimia Gresik is an innovative company in providing quality products to maintain national food security and improve the welfare of farmers.

"Innovation has become the DNA of Petrokimia Gresik Personnel. Every year there are thousands of Innovation clusters born in Petrokimia Gresik, and employee involvement in innovation conventions has reached more than 80 percent. They continue to be adaptive by thinking about improvement. Its breakthroughs have succeeded in creating added value for the company," said Dwi Satriyo.

The innovations commanded by Dwi Satriyo have been carried out in recent times by optimizing digitalization. Among them, in port operations through the Petroport application. This application can reduce loading and unloading labor costs and demurrage fines due to loading and unloading delays of up to IDR 23.5 billion.

Petrokimia Gresik also created WMS to lower backlog costs and improve warehouse loading performance and quality management processes. In addition, digitalization is also carried out on distribution networks, supply chain optimization, operation & maintenance excellence.

"We do innovation with optimization in various business lines of the company, such as distribution, warehousing, and other business processes," said Dwi Satriyo.

Next to product innovation, Petrokimia Gresik established the Phonska Alam factory, which is the first organic NPK fertilizer factory in Indonesia with a capacity of 10,000 tons/year. This factory is present because of the need for fertilizers with standardized and quality N, P, and K content for organic agriculture in Indonesia.

He also revealed that one of the keys to the innovation carried out by Petrokimia Gresik is the development of Human Resources (HR). Because of superior human resources, it will give birth to many innovations for more efficient and effective company business processes.

The HR development program run by Petrokimia Gresik so far, among others, provides learning assignment programs for employees both at domestic and foreign universities, as an effort by the company to improve competence, following the values of BUMN AKHLAK (Amanah, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative).

There are as many as 102 employees who take master's education in the country, and there are 33 employees assigned S2 studies in the UK, the Netherlands, the United States, China, and Australia.

Petrokimia Gresik also assigned 60 employees for managerial assignments, or learn knowledge in Pupuk Indonesia as the holding, as well as in other Pupuk Indonesia Group. The company also conducts talent development through training and certification.

Care for MSMEs

In the same event, Petrokimia Gresik is also considered to care about MSMEs. Dwi Satriyo conveyed that the innovation carried out by the company also benefits the surrounding community through the Mitra Kebanggaan Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, better known as Mangga or MSME development programs.

"The Mango Program has been presented since 2021, to support the national economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. This program continues the contribution of Petrokimia Gresik through the Micro and Small Business Funding (PUMK) program since 1984. Through Mangga, Petrokimia Gresik not only provides capital assistance but also coaching and mentoring MSME actors from various regions," said Dwi Satriyo.

Through this program, Petrokimia Gresik in 2022 has helped 631 MSMEs spread across East Java, Central Java, D.I Yogyakarta, and surrounding areas, with revolving fund distribution reaching IDR 41.8 billion.

"Petrokimia Gresik through the Mangga program fosters an entrepreneurial spirit through access to capital and coaching to develop its business," he said.

Meanwhile, the award at the BUMN Award event had also been won by Dwi Satriyo the previous year. Dwi Satriyo was named the Best CEO of Driving Execution in the SOE Subsidiary Category. This national level award of BUMN Award is also not the first time won by Petrokimia Gresik. Starting in 2018, Petrokimia Gresik has always managed to bring home awards from this event.

This event was held by BUMN Track supported by PPM as a form of appreciation to CEOs and state-owned companies who take part in the growth of company performance. The 2023 BUMN Award, which is entering its 12th year, has the theme "Acceleration of Digital Transformation, SOE Business Innovation and Recovery ". This activity is one of the indicators of the ability of SOEs to build corporate governance to achieve business balance, while still prioritizing corporate social responsibility.

"In addition to being a clear proof of public recognition of the company's programs and performance, this award is also expected to motivate Petrokimia Gresik Personnel to continue to develop themselves and innovate in presenting Agro-industrial Solutions," concluded Dwi Satriyo.
